The Samoan Werewolf was ambushed before the main event!
‘The Samaon WereWolf’ Jacob Fatu was set to battle Drew McIntyre in the main event of the October 17 show of SmackDown, as the two stars were locked in a fierce feud. Notably, during the opening moments of the show, it was revealed that the clash will now be a number one contender’s match for the Undisputed title.
However, before the main event, Fatu was viciously attacked, forcing him out of the match. The introductions for the main event were about to begin when a commotion broke out. The camera quickly cut backstage, revealing Jacob Fatu lying beneath a scaffolding, blood spitting from his mouth.
Cody Rhodes accused McIntyre of the attack and then offered him a title clash right then, which was followed by a lengthy brawl. The match ended in disqualification as Rhodes blasted Drew with the title during the match.
Jacob Fatu is not dealing with a serious injury

Since Fatu was written off television last week, many WWE fans feared a lengthy absence, as previous reports suggested that Fatu was dealing with “a non-wrestling-related injury” that would keep him off television for an extended period.
According to a recent report from PW Insider, sources backstage at SmackDown indicated that Fatu’s absence is because of a dental procedure, not a significant injury.
“For those who have asked, the word among talents at Smackdown last night was that Jacob Fatu was recovering from a dental procedure and was not yet cleared to wrestle,” the report stated.
The report further noted that the general mood backstage is optimistic, adding that while they have not independently verified the dental story, numerous talents were stating the issue after the show.

Despite the hiatus, the report adds that the Samoan Werewolf still has a strong rapport with WWE officials. Fans now await Fatu’s return and the chaos that will follow.
