The WWE Hall of Famer says he feels the promotion doesn’t fully value him!

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart has claimed that WWE showed him a lack of respect at the recent SummerSlam 2025. Hart was invited by the promotion to attend the PLE at MetLife Stadium, only to be told there were no seats available for him.

Hart revealed this story in a recent interview at Vaughan Con. The 2025 edition of SummerSlam took place on August 2 and 3 at

MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The first-ever two-night SummerSlam saw Seth Rollins cash in the MITB contract on CM Punk, who defeated Gunther in the main event of Night Two.

On the other hand, Brock Lesnar made his earth-shattering return during the final moments of Night 2 after Cody Rhodes pinned John Cena to regain the WWE Championship. Lesnar attacked Cena in his return after two years.

WWE invited Bret Hart for SummerSlam 2025

Hart took part in a 60-minute Q&A session hosted by actor and comedian Andrew Phung at Vaughan Con on Sunday in Vaughan, Ontario. The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about his life and wrestling career. He also revealed that WWE invited him to attend the SummerSlam PLE as part of the audience.

“This year, WWE told me that they wanted me to be in the crowd (at SummerSlam). Then they told me once I got there that they didn’t have any seats for me,”

The Hitman revealed that upon his arrival, he was informed that the promotion had no seat available for him. He also pointed out that, despite this, Kevin Nash was provided with a seat to watch the show. Hart continued stating that he feels the WWE doesn’t fully appreciate him.

“But I noticed Kevin Nash got a seat. Maybe I finally realized that I don’t think they really fully appreciate me, even after Hulk’s passing, that there’s just no certain appreciation for anything I did.”

Hart has long had a turbulent relationship with WWE, highlighted by his 12-year hiatus from the company following the Montreal Screwjob, after which he left the promotion to join WCW. Hart returned in 2004 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006.

In 2019, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for a second time. Hart went on to make appearances at SummerSlam 2019 and Clash at the Castle 2022. His most recent WWE TV appearance came in September 2024, when he had a segment with Gunther on Raw in Calgary.
