The second edition of the all-women’s PLE will emanate is set for this weekend.
WWE is gearing up to bring back the all-women’s Premium Live Event, Evolution. The second edition of the all-women’s show is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The promotion has announced multiple matches where five titles will be defended, including the Women’s World title and the NXT title. The promotion has also announced a women’s battle royal for the PLE, where the winner will be awarded a title shot at Clash in Paris.
Here, we take a look at WWE legends, including Brie Bella and four others, who might make a return to participate in the Battle Royal.
5. Lita
One of the most legendary wrestlers in the women’s division to step foot inside the squared circle is undoubtedly Lita. She was last seen during the November 14, 2023, episode of NXT. The Hall of Famer could make her return to participate in the women’s battle royal, elevating the PLE and making the night memorable for fans.

4. Layla
Layla retired from pro wrestling in 2015, with her final match taking place against Paige on the July 26, 2015, edition of WWE‘s Live SummerSlam Heatwave Tour house show. However, the former Divas Champion has previously revealed that she would be open to participating in the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble, while the return at Rumble didn’t happen, WWE can bring back the legend during the all-women’s PLE.
3. Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn initially left WWE in 2014 but made a return in 2018 for the first time in four and a half years as one of the participants to compete in the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament. She also made an appearance during a backstage segment on the Raw Reunion show in 2019, but since has not made an appearance on WWE telivision.
Kaitlyn has mentioned that while her life has changed, WWE remains a big part of who she is and is always willing to return if the right opportunity arises. The women’s battle royal at the historic PLE is one of those right opportunities for the former Divas Champion.

2. Brie Bella
Following the return of Nikki Bella last month, WWE was planning a feud between her and Liv Morgan, which would likely have led to a clash at Evolution. However, the plans were scrapped when Morgan suffered an injury that forced her out of action.
During the time, reports also suggested that Brie Bella was making her return, joining her sister to battle Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, likely for the Women’s Tag Titles. Brie can still make her return to participate in the battle royal; her return will likely be one of the highlights of the show.
1. AJ Lee
Since the return of her husband, CM Punk, WWE fans have demanded her return. Lee transformed the women’s division like few others, laying the foundation for many of the top stars in the division over the past decade.
With potential dream matches against Rhea Ripley, Roxanne Perez, and Bianca Belair, few returns in the Evolution series could have the same impact as hers. Even if Lee decides not to/f partake in the battle royal and only makes her return appearance like Punk, she would still get insane love from fans who have wanted her return for a long time.
