The news was first reported by Dave Meltzer at F4WOnline.com, who revealed that Breakker recently underwent surgery to repair what was described as a “serious hernia.” WWE has not officially confirmed the injury or the procedure at the time of writing.
While the report is concerning, the outlook may not be as grim as it initially appears. Typical recovery timelines for hernia surgery range between four and six weeks, meaning Breakker could realistically be cleared to compete before April if rehab progresses smoothly.
That window keeps the door open for WrestleMania involvement, albeit with limited margin for setbacks.Much will depend on how Breakker responds to recovery and whether WWE adjusts creative plans accordingly.
WrestleMania 42 plans still in play?
According to speculation, Breakker was slated for a high-profile clash with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42. That matchup, however, carries its own complications.
Rollins has been rehabbing a torn rotator cuff suffered during his match with Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel in October. Despite that, WWE creative is reportedly confident that “The Visionary” will be cleared in time.
That confidence was subtly reinforced at the Royal Rumble, where a masked man, heavily implied to be Rollins, attacked Breakker during his entrance and laid him out with a stomp. Breakker still entered the match, only to be eliminated moments later by Oba Femi.
The following Monday on WWE Raw, Breakker appeared furious, destroying the commentary desk before being escorted out by General Manager Adam Pearce. Whether that angle now doubles as an injury write-off remains to be seen.
For now, WWE is expected to provide clarity during Raw tonight in Cleveland. Until then, the hope remains that Breakker’s recovery stays on track.
