Roman Reigns along with the OG faction will take on Sikoa’s Bloodline at Survivor Series 2024

The 38th edition of Survivor Series will take place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We are just hours away from the final PLE of 2024 which features two WarGames clash and three title matches.

The 38th edition of Survivor Series will be the third WarGames-themed event in the company’s history.  This will also be the third time WWE has hosted the PLE event in Canada and the first time it has been held in Vancouver.

Much of Saturday’s attention will be centered on the men’s WarGames match, which will pit Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline and Bronson Reed against the “Original Bloodline” of Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn, who just added CM Punk as their fifth member.

Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, the Stamford-based promotion dubbed Reigns with the title of ‘Mr. Survivor Series.’ The celebration included a highlight reel of the OTC’s top ten moments from the PLE.

Randy Orton has more wins at the PLE than Roman Reigns

Since the PLE’s inception in 1987, no one has been more successful at the event than Randy Orton. The Viper has headlined multiple times since 2003 and has created countless memorable moments in high-stakes matches.

Whether competing in traditional elimination bouts, WarGames, or defending the WWE Championship, “The Viper” has firmly established Survivor Series as his domain. So, does the title of Mr. Survivor Series belong to Reigns, or is it Orton who truly deserves it?

The Viper has a total of sixteen appearances with a record of ten wins and six losses. Orton solidified his dominance at Survivor Series early on, boasting a three-year streak as the sole survivor in traditional elimination tag team matches.

The Viper has headlined the PLE six times and is undefeated in championship matches as well as Champion versus Champion matches.

On the other hand, Roman made his WWE debut at the 2012 Survivor Series as a member of The Shield with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

Reigns has a total of ten appearances (excluding the upcoming one) with five consecutive victories (from 2019 – 2022) and boats a total record of eight victories and two defeats.

The OTC has headlined the show four times, including three consecutive times from 2020-2022. He also single-handedly eliminated four superstars in 2013. Similar to Orton, The Original Tribal Chief is undefeated in Champion versus Champion matches.

Who deserves the Mr. Survivor Series title?

When you compare the numbers, Reigns’ appearances at the PLE match Orton’s total victories at the event. However, the OTC boasts a win rate of 80% whereas Orton’s win rate is at 62.5%.

Reigns’ incredible performance in 2013 paved the way for a dominant era, that reached its peak in 2020. He is the only star in Survivor Series history to appear as a world champion in three consecutive events during the same reign, having defeated some of the biggest names in the industry.

Despite Roman’s remarkable triumphs, it’s hard to overlook the legacy of the Legend Killer. As mentioned above, over the past 21 years, the Viper has partaken in 16 Survivor Series PLEs, showcasing his remarkable longevity.

Randy Orton‘s dominance as the sole survivor from 2003 to 2005 solidified him as a credible maineventer when he was just 25. Orton has also secured victories over numerous legends, earning him the moniker ‘The Legend Killer.’

However, Orton’s resume stands out with notable victories over multiple legends including Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Batista, along with his crucial contributions to his teams’ successes, especially in 2016 where he sacrificed himself for the brutal spear and saved Bray Wyatt who picked up the win for their team.

Even if Orton never competes in another Survivor Series, the unforgettable RKO he delivered on JD McDonagh at WarGames in 2023 will remain a defining moment, solidifying his legacy as “Mr. Survivor Series.”
