WWE fans on the internet have been divided since last week’s SmackDown, with the topic of discussion being Nia Jax, who has once again found herself surrounded in controversy after ‘injuring’ Jade Cargill.
Nia and Jade were battling Tiffany Stratton in a triple-threat match for the WWE Women’s title. However, during a spot near the steel steps, Jax drove Cargill into the steel steps. The impact busted Jade open near her eyebrow, leaving her with a deep gash that poured blood down her face.
While Tiffany Stratton retained her title, the shocking image of Cargill getting her face bloodied has dominated fan discussion after the show.
Many fans pointed out the force that Jax used to throw Cargill into the steel steps; others pointed to previous instances of Jax injuring other wrestlers during matches. Fans also grilled Jax for the bothces during the match and called for her release.
Amid all the backlash, former Women’s US Champion Chelsea Green has come out in support of Jax. Replying to a fan tweet about Jax, Green defended Jax, stating that they are lucky to have Jax as their locker room leader.
