The former US Champion has been out of in-ring action due to injury.

Former Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green has been out of in-ring action due to an injury. Amid growing concern from fans and continued appearances on Friday Night SmackDown, Green has provided a positive update on the injury.

Green sustained the injury during a Elimination Chamber qualifying match on the February 10 edition of WWE SmackDown, where Green, Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend competed for a spot in the Chamber match. Despite the injury, she finished the match and was later examined backstage by medical staff.

Green was set to defend the AAA World Mixed Tag Team titles alongside Ethan Page at an AAA event. However, the injury forced a replacement in La Hiedra, with Page ultimately losing the titles to Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice.

Despite the injury Green has continued to make appearances on SmackDown, and partake in backstage segment. During last week’s show, she was even present ringside during the match between Tiffany Stratton and Alba Fyre.

On the red carpet at the WWE 2K26 Creator Fest, Green had a conversation with Denise Salcedo where she revealed that her recovery is moving along much faster than initially expected. She added that, although the injury is painful, she feels fortunate it wasn’t a broken ankle.

“I’m healing up much faster than I thought I would be. I’m out of the boot, but only for the fashion. I should not be out of the boot. Um, I chipped my ankle, the side of it. So, it’s painful, but I feel like I got lucky. Like, in terms of a broken ankle, I feel like I got very very very lucky. Thank gosh,”

Green also emphasized that she doesn’t anticipate a long layoff, suggesting her return to the ring may happen sooner than expected.

WWE has been dealing with major setbacks due to injury

Not only Chelsea Green, the injury has been pretty active ahead of WrestleMania and after Bron Breakker from the Vision stable, Bronson Reed became its latest victim as he suffered a torn bicep during the final men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match on the February 23 episode of Raw.

That said, Green’s smooth recovery is great news for WWE ahead of WrestleMania, as having such a high-profile talent available could elevate storylines and heighten overall fan excitement for the event.

The blue brand would also benefit from her in-ring return, especially with a three-hour show that relies heavily on established, fan-favorite stars to carry the spotlight.
