The Second City Saint will lock horns against Seth Rollins tonight
‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk is scheduled to lock horns against his fierce rival Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins in the main event of the historic debut show of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The two stars will settle their feud tonight at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
Punk made his return after a hiatus following his brutal hell-in-a-cell match against Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood 2024 PLE. The Second City Saint joined forces with the OG Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos & Sami Zayn) to battle the Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa & Bronson Reed).
The two factions collided in the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024 PLE where the OG faction picked up the win. Punk then made his return on the fallout show of 12/02/24 WWE RAW where he reiterated his intentions to fight for the title and headline WrestleMania.
However, he was interrupted by Seth Rollins and a war of words started between the two which led to a brawl in the following episode. The animosity between the two was on full display during the brawl which led to the announcement of the clash between the two.
CM Punk names WWE legend Stone Cold as his dream opponent
Ahead of the clash in the debut show tonight, The Second City Saint sat down with Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson on their Nightcap podcast.
During his appearance, the Second City Saint discussed the injury he suffered at the Royal Rumble 2024 PLE which forced him out of action for WrestleMania 40. Punk also laid out his plan after defeating Rollins which goes through Royal Rumble PLE.
While discussing wrestling for an audience and wrestling for television, Johnson asked Punk if he had a dream match involving a legend from either the past or from the current roster. The Second City Saint named Stone Cold and Bret Hart as his dream opponents, revealing the influence the two legends had on him.
“When they ask me that question, one name that always comes to my mind is Stone Cold Steve Austin. unfortunately, he had to retire because of injuries. Bret Hart’s another one. bret hart would be a dream for me because that’s a guy that I looked up to as a kid.” Punk said.
Punk also stated his intentions to fight the current Heavyweight Champion Gunther and ‘his boy’ Cody Rhodes who is the current Undisputed WWE Champion.
“There’s a lot of people that I would love to… I would love to get in there with Gunther, he’s a champion on RAW, love to mix it up with ‘my boy’ Cody (Rhodes)” Punk stated.
Punk’s dream matches, including a potential WrestleMania main event, rest on him securing a win against Rollins in the grudge match tonight.
