CM Punk is currently in a long-term heated rivalry with Drew McIntyre
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are the better rivals in the red brand, who have been feuding with each other since the beginning of the year. Both had a tough run, unable to have their hands on each other. However, they had their first match at SummerSlam 2024, where Drew McIntyre picked up the win. Although Drew picked up a win against Punk showing his dominance, Punk called for a sequel rivalry with Drew McIntyre.
Last week (August 12, 2024) on Raw, Drew tried to move on from Punk and tried to enter between Gunther & Randy Orton’s feud for the World Heavyweight Championship. However Punk jumped from the audience side to attack Drew. Both brawled and Drew pushed him to the steel steps and removed his belt to attack Punk. However, Punk took the belt from him and whipped the belt in the back and brutally attacked him, until he escaped the arena through the audience area.
CM Punk then appeared on the backstage interview and said that he lied about his flight delay to catch Drew. Punk went on to say that his rivalry with Drew is not over until he gets his bracelet back. He also said that he had a plan to get Drew. With just hours away for this week’s WWE Raw, the Second City Saint sent a message on his social media.
CM Punk’s message to Drew McIntyre
CM Punk on his Instagram story posted a picture saying “Monday Night Punk” with the old ‘Monday Night Raw’ style font. Punk has set the hype for his appearance on the August 19, 2024 episode of WWE Raw at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, United States.
WWE has officially announced that Punk will be live on this week’s show and will deliver a ‘can’t miss’ message to Drew McIntyre. Based on the hype he set, he is expected to steal the show with the promo. Punk could drop a pipe bomb on Drew, for which he is widely famous. Punk could also be involved in a brawl with Drew, as the continuation of last week, or could potentially challenge for a match at Bash in Berlin.
There have been big rumors backstage that Punk vs McIntyre’s rematch could be a ‘strap match’ at Bash in Berlin. However, we need to wait and watch what will happen on this week’s show.
