Cody Rhodes gets dressed as The Homelander.
The Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, recently dressed as Homelander for a new trailer for The Boys. Taking on X (previously Twitter), the American Nightmare uploaded the advertisement dressed as Homelander. He was spotted promoting Season 4 of The Boys, available on Amazon Prime.
Cody Rhodes captioned the video, “Homelander, you just met your American Nightmare.” “Watch all-new episodes of The Boys on Prime Video today.
Cody, dressed as Homelander, was seen from behind near the beginning of the video. The neck tattoo and golden hair made it clear who he was. When Cody returned and exposed his face, he asked, “So what do you want to talk about?” The video finished with a smirk and Cody’s eyes showing heat vision.
Is Cody Rhodes’ American Nightmare persona influenced by Homelander?
Cody Rhodes’ clothing and blonde hair resemble Homelander, who is portrayed by Anthony Starr in the online series. This question was posed to Cody during an interview while he was still doing the American Nightmare gimmick for AEW.
The 39-year-old denied the similarity, claiming his persona was not influenced by Homelander. Sandra Gray, his costume designer, was unaware of the superhero identity, despite having worked on his outfits since the Dashing Cody Rhodes days. As a result, their identical clothes and appearances were purely coincidental.
Cody Rhodes’ continuing battle with The Bloodline
While Homelander is a comic book villain, Cody Rhodes is WWE’s top babyface, having won the Undisputed WWE Championship at this year’s Showcase of Immortals.
Currently, the American Nightmare competes with the company’s most popular heels, The Bloodline. Despite the absence of Roman Reigns since WrestleMania 40, the Bloodline saga has piqued fans’ interest with the introduction of three new members.
Solo Sikoa has taken over as the evil stable’s leader, replacing Paul Heyman. The trio of Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton will face the new Bloodline at Money in the Bank 2024. Jacob Fatu, the stable’s newest and most outstanding member, will make his debut in a six-man tag team bout.
