The stage was set for this epic clash of titans at WrestleMania as Roman Reigns, the Tribal Chief, defends his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against the winner of the 2023, 2024 Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes. This showdown marks a long-awaited rematch between Reigns and Rhodes, following their electrifying encounter at WrestleMania 39.
Rhodes is a two-time Royal Rumble winner, has been on a journey of redemption, seeking to finally etch his name in the annals of WWE history as the undisputed champion. After much contemplation, Rhodes confirmed his decision to challenge Reigns during the WrestleMania XL Kickoff event, setting the stage for a showdown that promises to be nothing short of legendary.
The tension between Reigns and Rhodes has reached a boiling point, with both competitors poised to leave it all on the line in their quest for championship glory. Reigns, with his ironclad dominance as champion, seeks to continue his reign of supremacy over the WWE Universe. Meanwhile, Rhodes is fueled by determination and the desire to rewrite his story by dethroning the Tribal Chief and ascending to the pinnacle of the WWE.
The stakes have never been higher as these two fierce competitors collide in what promises to be a battle for the ages. Will Reigns continue his dominant run as champion, or will Rhodes finally achieve his long-awaited redemption and claim the coveted Undisputed WWE Universal Championship? Now, with The Bloodline rules as stipulation let’s see whether Rhodes “finish his story” or not.
Cody Rhodes dethrones “The Tribal Chief”
Cody Rhodes was the first to make it into the ring as we got ready for the main event of WrestleMania 40. He was accompanied by his wife Brandie Rhodes. Fans were roaring as Cody Rhodes made it into the ring. Then came the champion “The Tribal Chief” who was accompanied by The Wisemen Paul Heyman.
Cody Rhodes comes into the match with immense pressure as if he loses he might never get another oppurtunity at the title again. As, both men came face to face Roman looked confident but Rhodes was all fired up as well. But, tension was clearly visible on Rhodes’ face.
Both men started fighting with Cody gaining the momentum but The Tribal Chief was too much for “The American Nightmare” to handle alone. But still both men fought hard untill Roman Reigns hits cross roads to Cody Rhodes then later goes low then hits a powerbomb to Cody Rhodes through the announce table.
The Bloodline Rules cause a lot of interference
Then Roman Reigns hits Cody Rhodes with a Superman Punch to seal the deal but Rhodes relentlessly keeps moving slowly shifting the momentum towards him hitting Roman Reigns with a spear to get back at him. But as Cody Rhodes marches towards victory Jimmy Uso interferes but Jey Uso comes for Cody Rhodes’ aid.
This helps Roman hit a spear to Cody Rhodes but Rhodes kicks-out. Then hits Roman Reigns with a spear through the barricade. As Cody measures Reigns for the win but Solo Sikoa interferes hitting Rhodes with a Samoan Spike. Solo Sikoa keeps attacking Cody Rhodes but nothing seems to faze Cody and there comes John Cena for Cody Rhodes aid taking Solo Sikoa out.
Then came The Final boss face to face with John Cena but The Rock quickly hit John Cena with a Rock Bottom but then The Shields music hits, and then came The Undertaker face to face with The Rock chokeslamming The Rock helping Rhodes to even the odds.
Which helps Cody Rhodes to hit with three consecutive cross roads to become the new undisputed WWE WWE Universal Champion.
