The Royal Rumble 2025 PLE has concluded!
The 2025 edition of the Royal Rumble PLE was delivered as promised by the WWE and included some of the most iconic moments. The PLE featured two Rumble matches in the men’s and women’s divisions and two title clashes.
Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano (DIY) retained their titles against Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin (Motor City Machine Guns). In the second title clash of the evening, Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE title against Kevin Owens.
The two former friends clashed in a ladder match where Rhodes picked up the win and captured both the Winged Eagle title and the Undisputed title. However, following the PLE it was revealed that the champion suffered multiple injuries.
After the PLE, Jackie Redmond revealed that the American Nightmare is dealing with multiple injuries and will not be attending the post-match presser. Redmond also stated that Rhodes’ ‘in-ring status is up in the air’. However, Redmond clarified that the Champion will appear on this week’s episode of SmackDown.
“We all saw how intense that ladder match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens was, We obviously could see that Kevin Owens was in rough shape after that match was complete, but I also have it on good authority that The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is dealing with multiple injuries.
I can’t confirm the intensity or severity of those injuries, but what I can tell you is that they’re bad enough that Cody will not be addressing the media in tonight’s press conference. In fact, his in-ring status might even be up in the air as well.” Redmond stated.
Charlotte Flair is unsure while Jey Uso wants to face Gunther
‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair made her return as announced in the women’s Rumble match and went on to win the match. She is now set to headline WrestleMania against the champion of her choosing. Flair also became the first woman to win two Royal Rumbles.
During her appearance in the post-match presser Flair was asked about her plans ahead for 2025, the Queen stated that she is coming for her title while emphasizing that she hasn’t decided which champion she will pick. “I’m coming for my title at WrestleMania, I just haven’t decided which one yet.”
In the men’s Royal Rumble match, Jey Uso triumphed over multiple megastars and eliminated “The GOAT” John Cena to win the 2025 Rumble match. During the post-match presser, Jey stated that he is looking at both his options and while he’s not sure as of now, he is leaning towards the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
“I’m looking at both of them, you know, we’re gonna Yeet here! I don’t know man but I would like one more crack at Gunther, and I really feel like I can beat Gunther” Jey stated.
