As Cody Rhodes is all set to main-event WrestleMania for the second time in a row this year, here we take a look at his WrestleMania win-loss record, with a brief journey through his matches.
Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania record
Cody Rhodes wrestled a total of ten matches in WrestleMania and has won only three and lost nine. Here is a brief view of Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania journey.
At WrestleMania 24, Cody Rhodes made his WrestleMania debut by participating in the 24-Man Battle Royal in the pre-show to determine the #1 contender for the ECW Championship, where Kane won the match (0-1).
At WrestleMania 26, Cody Rhodes faced Randy Orton & Ted DiBiase in a Triple Threat Match after the Legacy’s split. Orton won the match by Punt kicking Rhodes & delivering the RKO to Ted DiBiase. This marks Cody’s second loss at WrestleMania (0-2).
At WrestleMania 27, The Undashing Cody Rhodes faced Rey Mysterio in a mid-card match. Cody Rhodes won the match by knocking out Mysterio with the knee brace. This marks Cody’s first win at WrestleMania (1-2).
At WrestleMania 28, Cody Rhodes defended his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Big Show and failed to retain the title after Big Show hit a spear to the groin and hit a knockout punch (1-3).
At WrestleMania 30, Cody participated in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, where Cesaro won the match by eliminating Big Show last (1-4).
At WrestleMania 31, Stardust participated in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match along with Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, Luke Harper and R-Truth. Daniel Bryan climbed the ladder and unhooked the Intercontinental championship to win the match (1-5), marking Cody’s third consecutive loss at WrestleMania.
At WrestleMania 32, Stardust again participated in the multi-starred Intercontinental Championship Ladder match with Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, Kevin Owens, The Miz, Sincara and Sami Zayn. Zack Ryder climbed the ladder and won the Intercontinental Championship (1-6). This is the last WrestleMania of Cody on his first run.
At WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes made his WWE return as a surprise opponent for Seth Rollins on Night 1, with The American Nightmare gimmick after six years. Rhodes won the match and marked his second win at Mania (2-6).
At WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of the show. This is the first time Cody main eventing the show & for the major title, however he failed to win the title after The Bloodline interference (2-7).
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes was booked to be part of two matches on either night. On Night 1, Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins suffered defeat against the team of The Rock & Roman Reigns in a tag team match. (2-8)
On Night 2, Cody challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event and did the unthinkable, defeating Reigns, shattering his dominant 1316-day title reign to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. (3-8)
At WrestleMania 41, Rhodes defended his title for the ninth time against John Cena in the main event. Cena was looking to break the tie with Ric Flair and become the 17-time WWE World Champion. Cena created history as he pinned Rhodes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion, breaking the tie with Ric Flair in the process. (3-9)
