Damian Priest’s all time WWE SummerSlam record

Damian Priest is one of the most dominant and powerful professional wrestlers, who has been having a pretty impressive run since his debut. Priest has been in WWE since 2018 and has been in the main roster since 2021.

He is a seven time champion in WWE and is the current World Heavyweight Champion. Heading towards this year’s SummerSlam PLE, here we take a look at Damian Priest’s all time WWE SummerSlam record.

SummerSlam 2021

At SummerSlam 2021, Damian Priest challenged Sheamus for the United States Championship in a singles match. This is the SummerSlam debut of Priest and the first championship match in the main roster. Sheamus was a heel and Priest was a babyface. The Celtic Warrior wore a face mask during the match, as he broke his nose a few days ago. 

Sheamus used his mask as a weapon throughout the match, however Priest removed his mask and delivered a spinning kick and the Reckoning to pin Sheamus and win the WWE United States Championship for the first time. This is the first championship win for Priest in the main roster. With this Priest opened his SummerSlam record with (1-0).

SummerSlam 2022

At SummerSlam 2022, Damian Priest & Finn Balor of Judgment Day faced Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio of The Mysterios in a No Disqualification Tag Team Match. Since being a no dq match everything is legal in the match and both the teams showcased tough fights. 

At one point Priest & Balor took the game too far from Mysterios, however the former Judgment Day leader Edge made his return and speared Priest and Balor to turn the game in favor of Rey & Dominik. The Mysterios used the momentum to deliver a double 619 on Balor and delivered a Frog Splash on him for the win. This marks the first loss of Priest at the SummerSlam PLE and equals the record with (1-1)

Damian Priest didn’t get featured in the 2023 SummerSlam, however came back stronger for the 2024 SummerSlam PLE as the World Heavyweight Champion. This year, Priest will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against “The 2024 King of the Ring” Gunther in a singles match. This is the first time Damian Priest is walking into SummerSlam holding a title.
