World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest signs new WWE contract

Damian Priest is one of the most dominant and powerful professional wrestlers, who has had a pretty impressive run in the WWE. He has been playing an important role in the Judgment Day stable. Priest won the Men’s Money in the Bank briefcase 2023 and had carried the contract for more than ten months.

As it got near to his contract expiring, Priest successfully cashed-in at WrestleMania 40 against Drew McIntyre to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Priest is not only the new World Heavyweight Champion, but seems like he has a number of new things already including his theme and contract. Here is what Damian Priest spoke about his WWE contract.

Damian Priest signs new WWE Contract

Damian Priest in WWE Digital Exclusive was interviewed by Cathy Kelly backstage, where Priest was asked about him being the vocalist of his new theme. Priest revealed that he has a lot of new things including a new theme, new contract and new title.

Damian Priest said,

“This has already been a great year for me. New contract, new title, new theme song voiced by yours truly. Judgment Day is on fire.”

There aren’t any details behind Damian Priest’s new WWE contract regarding the number of years, money and stuff. But it seems like his contract has some exciting features, as he is the one to lead us to the new era of WWE.

Priest also spoke about the new #1 Contender for his championship, Jey Uso.

Priest said, “Main Event Jey Uso, let me be the first one to congratulate you for getting the first shot at my World Heavyweight Championship. But don’t get carried out with the celebration. Because when the match happens, I am going to beat the YEET out of you.”

Damian Priest will be a Workhorse Champion

Priest previously spoke about how his championship reign is gonna be at WrestleMania 40 Night 2 Press Conference. He said that he will be a work horse champion and would plan to do justice to the championship.

Priest said,

“Last year, I believe I was #3 in most overall matches. If not mistaken, I believe I was #1 in TV matches. I’d double the amount of TV matches if I could. The idea of this being the workhorse championship? Bring it. That’s what I wanna do, I want it all. Obviously, we know our champions’ schedules change.”

“Seth set a precedent with this title. And it’d be disrespectful not to honor what he’s done. And I’m one of the first guys to say thank you to what he did when he brought another championship to a level that was important to the entire roster. And I plan to do it justice.”
