WrestleMania and the stage was set for an epic showdown as Drew McIntyre, the Scottish Warrior, prepared himself to go head-to-head with World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins in a battle for championship gold in front of the masses.
For McIntyre, this match represents more than just a chance to capture the world title; it’s a personal vendetta that has been brewing since the arrival of Jey Uso on Raw late last year. Fueled by bitterness and determination, McIntyre has set his sights on Rollins, viewing him as the ultimate obstacle standing between him and his quest to win gold in front of the WWE Universe. Despite his previous two world title victories occurring in empty arenas, McIntyre is determined to prove himself on the grandest stage of them all.
However, McIntyre’s path to championship glory has been fraught with challenges, as he has been unable to best Rollins in their previous encounters at WWE Crown Jewel and WWE Day 1. With Money in the Bank cash-in attempts from Damian Priest adding further complications, McIntyre’s road to WrestleMania has been anything but easy.
But after emerging victorious in a grueling Elimination Chamber match against some of Raw’s most formidable superstars, including Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Logan Paul, LA Knight, and Bobby Lashley, McIntyre now stands on the precipice of championship glory. With the World Heavyweight Title within his grasp, McIntyre is poised to leave it all in the ring as he faces off against Rollins at WrestleMania, determined to finally claim the championship that has eluded him for so long.
Drew McIntyre beats Seth Rollins to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Stephanie McMahon kicked off WrestleMania 40 Day 2. The opening match of the day is none other than Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs Drew McIntyre. McIntrye first made his way to the ring, then came the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Drew McIntyre starts the match with a monstrous Claymore Kick but Rollins kicks out of Two.
But fighting “The Scottish Warrior” with all the injuries was an inevitable choice. McIntyre was in beatdown mode as he absolutely trashed Seth Rollins. But somehow Rollins hits McIntyre with a pedigree following with Stomp but McIntyre kicks out of two to continue dominating the match.
The explosiveness both the men brought was great. Rollins made a good try to win against The Scottish Warrior but at last, it was the easiest payday for Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre finally gets his moment at WrestleMania as he is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Still, Rollins was resilient he took four claymores before finally losing the title.
Damian Priest spoils the moment for Drew McIntyre
As, Drew McIntyre was supposed to celebrate his WrestleMania moment he went on to have some exchange of words after the match with CM Punk who was sitting at the announce table. But, suddenly CM Punk starts attacking McIntyre who tries to push his luck which gives Damian Priest his moment to cash-in his money in the bank briefcase to become the New WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
It was expected that Priest was going to cash-in sooner as the contract was soon going to expire, but at the right time and moment Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship. Priest is now a one-time WWE Champion.
