The Samoan Werewolf was ambushed before the main event last Friday!
‘The Samaon WereWolf’ Jacob Fatu was set to battle Drew McIntyre in the main event of the October 17 show of WWE SmackDown, as the two stars were locked in a fierce feud. Notably, during the opening moments of the show, it was revealed that the clash will now be a number one contender’s match for the Undisputed title.
However, before the main event, Fatu was viciously attacked, forcing him out of the match. The introductions for the main event were about to begin when a commotion broke out. The camera quickly cut backstage, revealing Jacob Fatu lying beneath a scaffolding, blood spitting from his mouth.
Cody Rhodes accused McIntyre of the attack and then offered him a title clash right then, which was followed by a lengthy brawl. The match ended in disqualification as Rhodes blasted Drew with the title during the match.
Who attacked Jacob Fatu?

Similar to Cody Rhodes, many fans have been pointing the blame at ‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre. However, things might not be as straightforward as fans think. The ambush on Jade Cargill is one of the prime examples of this.
Despite fans pointing the blame at Liv Morgan, the assailant turned out to be Naomi, Cargill’s friend. Similar to the storyline, many fans are speculating whether Randy Orton is behind the attack. The promotion has been teasing Orton’s heel turn and his potential turn on Cody Rhodes.
Orton has been glancing at the Undisputed title for a long time and has openly stated his intentions of capturing the 15th WWE World title. Orton also has a history of ruin-ins with Fatu, during the latter’s heel run alongside Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline.
Fans are speculating if it was a payback from the Viper, the promotion has not yet revealed or hinted at who attacked Fatu. These are just speculations, and the real attacker will likely be revealed in the future or, similar to Cargill’s storyline, it might be revealed when Fatu makes his return.
Nevertheless, fans are in for another great and intriguing storyline, which would make the Blue brand even more interesting to watch. If WWE uses Fatu’s real injury in a good way, the storyline could add a layer of authenticity and emotional depth, making his comeback even more impactful.
Is Jacob Fatu really injured?
According to a recent report from PW Insider, sources backstage at SmackDown indicated that Fatu’s absence is because of a dental procedure, not a significant injury.
