Dominik Mysterio lost the IC title due to Finn Balor.

‘Dirty Dom’ Dominik Mysterio, since returning from a shoulder injury, defended the Intercontinental title against Penta two weeks ago. Despite his efforts, Dirty Dom failed to retain the title as Penta pinned him to capture his first title in WWE.

Apart from Danhausen’s curse, another factor that played out in the title loss was Finn Balor, stopping JD McDonagh, who was going to hand the ring bell to Dirty Dom and help their stablemate win the match.

Despite losing the title, Dirty Dom is determined to get the rematch, and in a recent appearance, floated the idea of an intriguing stipulation that has caught the attention of fans.

In a recent interview with Reality of Wrestling’s Brad Gilmore on The Collection, Dominik made it clear that he wants the Intercontinental title back and is willing to put everything on the line.

“I want my IC championship back. I don’t care what I have to do, I know Penta is an ugly, ugly dude, so I’m willing to put my hair up on the line against his mask and the IC championship. Hell, I’ll even put up my mustache – whatever it takes to get my IC title back.”

Dirty Dom also noted how he has defeated Penta multiple times, and the luchador only got lucky in their recent encounter because of Finn Balor. He also expressed his desire to walk out as a double Champion at WrestleMania.

“I beat this dude probably seven or eight times already. He got lucky on this last one because of Finn Balor’s dumb ass, I would like to walk out as a double champ at WrestleMania.”

The 42nd edition of WrestleMania will take place as a two-night event on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

Dirty Dom still holds the AAA Mega title and is scheduled to defend it against El Hijo Del Vikingo at the 2026 edition of AAA Rey de Reyes.

The 29th edition of Rey de Reyes is set to take place on March 14, 2026, at Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla de Zaragoza, Puebla.

The 2026 edition will be presented as a three-week series, airing on FOX in Latin America and YouTube and Facebook everywhere else, each Saturday from March 14 through March 28, 2026.
