WWE RAW Results: Dominik Mysterio topples Penta to retain Intercontinental Championship after Crown Jewel 2025

Dominik Mysterio and Penta battled in the first match of the show!

Just one night removed from a blockbuster Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, Monday Night RAW opened with high drama and championship action. Dominik Mysterio is still basking in his controversial reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion. He found himself standing across the ring from Penta.

The night began with Seth Rollins addressing the WWE Universe following his victory over Cody Rhodes in Perth. Rollins reflected on his win, showed respect to Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker, and made headlines when he proclaimed Bronson Reed as “the new Tribal Chief” after Reed’s shocking triumph over Roman Reigns. From there, the focus shifted backstage, where Penta was approached by Rusev.

The Bulgarian Brute declared that he’d face whoever walked out of RAW as Intercontinental Champion, adding tension before the opening bell even rang.

Penta brings the fight early

Penta made his entrance to a loud ovation as RAW kicked off its in-ring action. Dominik Mysterio followed moments later, clutching his gold and wearing his trademark smirk. Once the bell rang, the challenger wasted no time, chopping down the champion and sending him crashing onto the announce table with a brutal back body drop.

Mysterio tried to stall and escape, but Penta stayed relentless, flying through the air with a springboard crossbody for an early nearfall. However, the tides turned after the break when “Dirty” Dom dropped Penta with a DDT on the outside. The crowd erupted in “Dirty Dom” chants as the champ mocked them, asserting his dominance while smashing the luchador into the barricade.

Chaos unfolds at ringside

Despite Dom’s arrogance, Penta refused to quit. He nailed a dive from the ring post and followed up with the Penta Driver, nearly ending Mysterio’s reign. But Dominik’s resilience and cunning would prove too much. As the match neared its climax, Rusev appeared on the ramp, distracting both competitors.

Penta dove onto Rusev, only to leave himself open to the champion’s trickery. In true Mysterio fashion, Dom grabbed his Intercontinental Title and a ring bell hammer, using the belt to distract the referee while slipping the weapon into his boot. A loaded 619 followed a frog splash, and with that, Dominik Mysterio once again escaped with his title intact.

As WWE RAW went into commercials, Mysterio smirked from the ramp, clutching his title while Penta fumed in the ring. With Rusev waiting in the wings, it appears Dominik’s next challenge is already set, and it might be his toughest yet.
