The U.S. title clash is set for Night 2 of WrestleMania.
WWE United States Champion Sami Zayn, after capturing the title against Carmelo Hayes to secure his WrestleMania spot, is now set to defend it for the second time at the ‘Grandest Stage.’
Zayn will battle Trick Williams on Night 2 of the two-night spectacle on April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two stars have been feuding since Williams’ main roster debut in January 2026 and will battle for the first time in singles action on WWE Programming.
A double turn is planned for Sami Zayn & Trick Williams

Ahead of their clash at Mania, BodySlam+ reports that WWE is considering a possible double turn for Sami Zayn and Trick Williams in their U.S. title match.
This stems from Zayn drawing “go-home heat,” while Williams has been getting noticeably stronger reactions in recent weeks.
Zayn facing backlash from fans is not really his fault, but WWE’s decision for Carmelo Hayes to drop the US title to Zayn, weeks before Mania, which means that despite carrying the title and putting on great matches, didn’t even result in a Mania spot for Hayes.
This has left many fans frustrated who have called for Hayes’ inclusion in the title match. However, after the title loss in the rematch, where “Sami Sucks” chants were audible, it seems like Hayes will not get a spot at the PLE, and Sami vs Williams for the title is still the plan.
The 42nd edition of WrestleMania will take place as a two-night event on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Night 1 will see Cody Rhodes defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton, while Night 2 will be headlined by CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns.
