Drew McIntyre & CM Punk to continue their rivalry in the upcoming weeks
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are the better rivals in the red brand, who have been feuding with each other since the beginning of the year. Both had a tough run, unable to have their hands on each other. However, they had their first match at SummerSlam 2024, where Drew McIntyre picked up the win.
Although we got a conclusion on who is dominant over others, they still continue their feud. CM Punk & Drew McIntyre had a brawl recently and Drew shared the aftermath of it.
What happened on WWE Raw?
On the August 12, 2024 episode of WWE Raw, Drew Mcintyre met the Raw General Manager Adam Pearce backstage. Pearce said that he can’t help Drew, as CM Punk has not made it to the show, as his flight is being delayed. Drew said that he is done with CM Punk, as he already defeated him at SummerSlam.
Drew went on to ask, why Randy Orton from SmackDown has got the World Heavyweight Championship title shot. Pearce explained the controversial end to the King of the Ring tournament. Drew said that he would humbly handle that business.
Later on in the show, when Gunther and Randy Orton were having a heated confrontation, Drew McIntyre interrupted them and tried to attack Randy Orton, however, CM Punk jumped from the audience area and attacked Drew. Both brawled and Drew pushed him to the steel steps and removed his belt to attack Punk. However, Punk took the belt from him and whipped the belt in the back and brutally attacked him, until he escaped the arena through the audience area.
Punk then appeared on the backstage interview and said that he lied that his flight was late, as Drew could escape from him. Punk said that his rivalry with Drew is not over until he gets his bracelet back.
Drew McIntyre shares the aftermath of Punk’s attack
Following the show, Drew McIntyre shared the aftermath of CM Punk’s attack on X/Twitter. Drew’s back was full of leather belt marks with blood. McIntyre also showed the bracelet with the name “Larry” & “AJ”, to trigger Punk again, although being hurt.
All these suggest that they could continue their feud in the upcoming weeks, however, there is no update on when they will have their next match, as they haven’t been booked for the upcoming Bash in Berlin PLE yet.
