Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus dark match announced for SmackDown before WWE Clash at the Castle 2024

The Scottish Warrior & Celtic Warrior will collide in Glasgow.

WWE is scheduled to host the Clash at the Castle 2024 PLE on June 15, 2024, from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. It is the second Clash at the Castle event, and it is a special event made for the United Kingdom. WWE has started their bookings for one of the big nights at the venue and the event is expected to be one of the grandest overseas events.

Before the Clash at the Castle PLE, WWE will be hosting the Friday Night SmackDown in the same venue a day before the event on June 14, 2024. It seems like WWE has not only pre-booked the matches for the PLE but also for the SmackDown show before the event.

Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus on SmackDown in Glasgow

WWE & OVO Hydro has officially announced that Drew McIntyre will be facing Sheamus in a singles match on the June 14, 2024 episode of SmackDown in Glasgow, Scotland in a dark match. Both the United Kingdom natives will fight exclusively for the WWE Universe in the venue.

The last time when The Celtic Warrior & the Scottish Warrior faced in a singles match was way back in March 2023, where both fought a tough fight and ended in a no contest making both qualify for the Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania 39. With the dark match being announced, Drew McIntyre will be fighting both nights in his hometown.

Drew McIntyre & Sheamus status for Clash at the Castle 2024

At Clash at the Castle 2024, McIntyre will be facing Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship in a singles match, based on the champs’ promise to Drew. In the match, Drew will seek revenge for Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew at WrestleMania XL Night 2, by using Drew’s advice against him.

On the other hand, Sheamus’s status for Clash at the Castle is unknown yet, however, based on speculations, it seems like he could be facing Ludwig Kaiser of Imperium at the PLE. Both had a brawl in the recent episode of Raw. If Sheamus vs Kaiser is booked, it would be the first singles PLE debut for Kaiser and The Celtic Warrior will be having his first singles PPV match after two years. Notably, Sheamus’ last singles pay-per-view match was back at the 2022 Clash at the Castle.
