Drew McIntyre wants to face CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam 2024

Drew McIntyre is one of the highly talented professional wrestlers on the current WWE roster. The Scottish Warrior was out of his line for a long time, unable to have his hands on the gold. As he was half way on his pursuits, CM Punk made is way back to the company & tease of overshadowing him. However Punk injured his tricep injury & Drew took his position and grabbed his spot to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Although McIntyre has his eyes on the championship, he still continues to tease feud with CM Punk, despite his injury. In a recent interview, Drew spoke about his feud with CM Punk, Punk’s injury and a potential match later this year.

Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk at SummerSlam 2024?

“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre recently appeared for an interview with Gorilla Position was asked about his feud with CM Punk, how he is worried about Punk’s injury & his desire to face Punk later this year at SummerSlam 2024.

Drew McIntyre said,

“Yeah, I just hope he’s careful. Just worried he’s going to injure something else during rehab. Man’s made of glass. I want that match. I really want that match. I’m just concerned for him, especially wrestling someone like me. I’m a freaking monster in there…I got my hands on him. You saw what I did to him at ‘Rumble. I tore him to pieces. I chopped him to bits…[CM] Punk was black and blue. I ended up hurting him in there,”

McIntyre’s current contract is expected to expire by mid-2024, most possibly during the SummerSlam time. It is still a mystery whether he had signed a new contract with WWE or not. However his optimistic approach to face Punk seems like he would continue with the company, however it’s just a speculation. On the other hand, CM Punk is advertised to make his return on March 25, 2024 episode of Raw in his home town in Chicago, Illinois.
