Dustin Rhodes wants to win a World title like the Undisputed WWE Champion

In a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, AEW star and ROH World Tag Team Champion and one-third of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion, Dustin Rhodes has revealed that he doesn’t want to duplicate what he and his brother, the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes did at the AEW Double or Nothing in 2019.

The two brothers battled in a brothers vs brothers match at the PPV which was held on May 25, 2019, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. During his appearance on the Busted Open Radio, Dustin was asked if there’s another chapter to his story he’d like to write his brother Cody.

Dustin said that a lot of people have asked him the same question and revealed that he doesn’t want to duplicate their match in 2019. He also lauded his brother and his recent accomplishment, adding that he feels like he is the one left out as he has still not won a world title.

“A lot of people have asked me that, and not necessarily, man. I’ve done so much stuff with Cody already, We had our really good match together. I can’t and would not try to duplicate that or even try to better that. I don’t want to mess with that at all. And Cody has moved on and transcended me in this business, and is doing such a fantastic job.

I think anything with me involved in the mix, would just bring it down. And that’s my true, honest opinion on it. Cody’s rise to fame here has been exponential, man. It’s been unbelievable to watch, and I’m sure Dad is very proud of him and proud of both of us, but it feels like I’m the one left out because I haven’t got the world title and I still want it.” The AEW star said.

The AEW star also added that he still has a desire to win the World title before he retires and thinks that him being the champion is good for business.

“I still do want it and I know there’s an opportunity for me to maybe get it before I retire, I really do. I really believe that. Is it good business? I think so because I can work as a working champion, as long as you want, and do just as good a job as anybody else in our business.” Dustin added.

Seth Rollins enjoyed stomping The Rock at WrestleMania 40

In a recent interview with Maggie & Perloff, ‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins was asked if The Rock has another in-ring run left in him. The Rock made his return during the Raw Netflix debut while his last in-ring performance was during the WrestleMania 40 PLE last year.

Seth replied stating that while people may think they can handle a full wrestling schedule after one match, they’ll soon realize it’s not as easy as it looks, and acknowledged that The Rock is clever enough to recognize that his full-time wrestling days are behind him.

“You get in there one time and you might think you can do a full schedule, but I don’t know if it’s as easy as it looks, You get in there, you do one, and you go, ‘Okay, I can do this.’ He’s smart enough to know his days of doing it full-time has come and gone.” Rollins stated.

Rollins praised The Rock for his impressive performance last year despite being out of the ring for ten years. Seth also jokingly said that he loved working with him and stomping The Rock, the match Seth is talking took place at WWE WrestleMania 40 where Rollins teamed up with Cody Rhodes to battle Roman Reigns and The Rock.

“Do I think he can get in there and do one more or a couple more? Absolutely. He was in prime condition and ready to go. He was a game opponent. For a guy that hasn’t done it in ten years, that’s really hard. It is like riding a bike, but it’s not one time. You need to get in there and get your reps in to get your mind where it’s at.

He was an incredible performer that night. He was able to slip back into it. It was an honor for me to be in the ring with him. That’s a guy who is a Hall of Famer and a legend in our business. He’s on the Board of Directors now as well, so he’s continued to help that side of the business. It was a fun ride getting in there and to be able to stomp the crap out of The Rock.” Rollins added.
