The Phenom is considered the greatest of all time

The Undertaker is credited as one of the most accomplished and respected in-ring veterans in the wrestling business. The Phenom was known for his mystical aura and supernatural presence that struck fear in the hearts of many individuals who stepped across the ring from him.

Moreover, a renowned fact about the mystique of his ‘Deadman’ persona befitted the popular saying, ‘You can’t kill what won’t die.’ Over his three decades of destruction, The Undertaker was attempted to be killed off from the WWE landscape with many stars going to lengths to vanquish him. But every attempt failed to keep The Undertaker in the clutches of death and the force of destruction returned from every possible attempt.

Here are all the times he returned from the dead in WWE:

1. WWE SummerSlam 1994

The Undertaker squared off against the incomparable Yokozuna in a casket match at the WWE Royal Rumble event in 1994. The dominant Samoan with the aid of a handful of stars, locked The Deadman in the casket to seal the win.

As they carted the casket up the ramp, smoke emerged from inside it, and The Undertaker’s spirit appeared on the titantron, signaling that it was n7080ot the last of The Phenom we saw. That proved to be a fact as The Undertaker resurfaced back to WWE at that year’s SummerSlam to face an impostor version of himself introduced by WWE Hall of Famer Ted Dibiase in his absence.

2. WWE Survivor Series 1996

In 1996, The Undertaker saw his long-time manager Paul Bearer betray him and join forces with the Mankind following their Boiler Room match. The duo would collide in a Buried Alive match at the In Your House 11 name-sake event.

Despite winning the match, it was The Phenom who was buried alive by Mankind, Triple H and their bunch of allies. But they were unable to finish the job as The Undertaker’s hand emerged from the grave following a bolt of lightning striking the gravesite and he made his return at WWE Survivor Series.

3. WWE RAW 1998

The iconic casket match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker at the 1998 Royal Rumble event saw The Deadman being betrayed by his brother, Kane after their temporary alliance. The Big Red Monster chokeslammed his brother into the casket and dragged it up to the entrance ramp. In a shocking turn of events, Kane sets the casket on fire seemingly killing The Undertaker.

However, as the fire extinguisher cleared the fire, The Undertaker’s body was not found in it, which proved to be true as he emerged back on RAW a month later to challenge his brother for a showdown at WrestleMania 14.

4. WrestleMania 20, 2003

Another major chapter written in the iconic rivalry between on-screen brothers, The Undertaker and Kane began at the 2003 WWE Survivor Series. At that time Kane helped Vince McMahon bury his brother alive in their Buried Alive match.

But months later, Kane found himself haunted by mind games and messages indicating the return of The Undertaker under his ‘Deadman’ moniker. The Phenom returned at The Showcase of the Immortals that year, defeating his estranged brother in a blockbuster showdown at WrestleMania 20.

5. WWE Survivor Series 2005

The Undertaker found himself embroiled in a heated feud with a young Randy Orton in 2005, who had donned the persona of ‘The Legend Killer.’ Following his failed attempt to break Undertaker’s Streak at WrestleMania 21, Orton earned redemption by defeating The Deadman at SummerSlam with the help of his father, Cowboy Bob Orton.

Moreover, the duo would later face The Undertaker at No Mercy in a casket match, defeating him again and setting his casket ablaze seemingly killing him off. But The Ortons were unable to do the job as The Undertaker returned from the dead at Survivor Series the same year right after Randy Orton’s triumphant victory in the traditional Survivor Series match. He emerged from a standing casket that was set on fire following a bolt of lightning striking the same and coming back to take out multiple stars before setting his sights back on Orton.
