These women have etched their names in history.

WrestleMania, famously dubbed the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All,’ has long been the pinnacle of sports entertainment. Landing a match on WrestleMania is a major opportunity for any superstar, offering a huge career push and the chance to achieve mainstream recognition.

For many established superstars, the chance to headline the Premium Live Event (PLE) is hugely significant, signaling that they have truly ‘made it’ in WWE.

Over the years, numerous stars have had the honor of closing the show, but only a select few women have reached this historic milestone. In this article, we take a look at every WWE woman who has headlined WrestleMania in history.

Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair – WrestleMania 37

Sasha Banks, aka Mercedes Mone and Bianca Belair’s clash for the WWE Women’s title at the 37th edition in Tampa, Florida, in 2021 was the most recent Mania headline by two women. Since then, no women’s match has had the distinction of closing the show on the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All.’

The title clash headline Night 1 of the PLE, with Belair defeating Banks to capture the WWE Women’s title for the first time in her WWE career.

Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch – WrestleMania 35

The historic triple threat match between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35 marked a monumental moment in WWE history as the first-ever women’s main event at the Mania PLE.

It also featured both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships on the line. Rousey entered as the Raw Women’s Champion, while Flair held the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and when the dust settled, Lynch walked out with both titles.

Apart from these two historic matches and the five trailblazing women who main-evented them, no one else has yet secured a spot to close the show on the ‘Grandest Stage.’ WWE is currently filled with top-tier talent, and with so many rising stars and established superstars, the future is full of possibilities.

These milestones for women’s wrestling are just the beginning, and fans can look forward to even more groundbreaking moments as new stars like Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Tiffany Stratton, Liv Morgan, among many others, stake their claim on WrestleMania’s main event spotlight.

Who were the first women to main-event WrestleMania?

The first-ever women’s main event at Mania was at WrestleMania 35, featuring Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch.

How many women have ever headlined WrestleMania?

So far, only five women have main-evented WrestleMania: Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and Sasha Banks.
