The 7/16 episode of WWE NXT was action-packed!

WWE successfully hosted the July 16, 2024 episode of NXT from the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, United States. WWE has showcased some of the interesting matches and segments on this week’s show.

Get to know what happened on the 7/16 episode of WWE NXT, as we come out with the complete show summary and results.

Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Wes Lee & Zachary Wentz)

Trey Miguel and Mark Coffey started the match, where Miguel had the initial strike and tagged Wentz in. Both teamed up to take Mark in control, but Mark took Wentz in control with an elbow and dragged him to their corner to let Wolfgang in. The match swung both sides, exchanging strikes. Wes Lee tagged in and was fired up delivering a slingshot senton, head scissors and a hurricanrana.

The Rascalz dominated the mid-match with lightning strikes and a series of offenses such as German suplex, hook kick and Lightning Spiral. However, Wolfgang stopped him. Trey took Wolfgang out with a dropkick, and all three delivered a triple dropkick.

Miguel delivered a diving DDT on Mark, where Lee & Wentz worked together outside the ring. Wentz delivered a penalty kick from the apron and the assisted shooting star press from the apron. In the final moments of the match, The Rascalz with a double stomp and double back breakker to Mark Coffey defeated Gallus and picked up the win.

Roxanne Perez was Live

Roxanne Perez was angry as usual, and she claimed that she was not given enough respect, that she deserved. She addressed her win over Lola Vice and said that even though she got the standing ovation despite the loss she didn’t. Perez mentioned Charlotte Flair’s first match and claimed that she could break all her records and everyone.

Perez addressed Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer’s potential debut on NXT and the fans giving red carpet treatment to them. Perez didn’t like that and wished to show them that no one is on her level. She made fun of Thea Hail, who is her next challenger and Hail showed up.

Hail claimed that she could defeat Perez to become the youngest NXT Champion, but Perez mocked her saying that she is just a little girl and not ready to hold the title. Both started a brawl and they rolled all over the ring, trying to lock each other into their submissions and Ridge Holland separated them.

Brooks Jenson vs Je’Von Evans

The match began with Jenson taking the initial strike on Evans, taking him to the corner. Evans fought back with punches, a hurricanrana and a dropkick, which sent him out of the ring. Both took the fight all over the arena, where Jenson targetted Evans mid-section and tried to tear him apart.

Evans gave him a tough fight with his highflying and quick-moving skills with splashes, kicks and flying over the top rope. In the final moments, Shawn Spears came out and Josh Briggs confronted him. Brroks got distracted by the two, which made Evans deliver a big dive over the top rope which helped him to execute his Ace Crusher for the win.

Backstage

Trick Williams was in a video call with Ilja Dragunov, who advised him to regain the NXT Championship back. Williams saw Pete Dunne nearby and asked him for advice, but he asked to figure it out on his own.

NXT Championship Match- Ethan Page vs Dante Chen

Page took Chen lite, but after receiving a chop, jumping from the top rope, a leapfrog and a wrist lock, he found out the potential of the Singaporean star. Page sent him to the floor and delivered a diving shoulder tackle and tried for a sunset powerbomb, but Chen escaped.

Chen delivered some clothesline, side step kick, and a suplex, but the champ prevailed. Chen took the champ to the limit, however Page with a cutter and the Ego’s Edge for the win.

After the match, Oro Mensah came out of nowhere to attack Page, but Page laid him down. Oro however followed him to the ramp, dragged him to the ring to deliver the spinning wheel kick and counted three for a pin.

Gallus & Joe Hendry

Gallus is not a fan of Joe Hendry and doesn’t want him in NXT. As his name is spelled, Hendry appeared and addressed them. Gallus said that when people hear Scottish, Gallus & Drew McIntyre are the two that come to the fans’ mind, and said that Hendry is not their type.

Izzi Dame vs Tatum Paxley

The match began with Dame looking for a powerbomb, to finish the match Paxley delivered a head scissors, drop kick, shoulder tackle and axe kick. Paxley took control of the match in the initial stage and Izzi started to fight back with a bow and arrow and a backbreaker.

Wendy Choo came to the ringside with her weird pain. This made Paxley regain control with a clothesline, dragon screw, big boot step-up enziguri and several other offenses. However, it was not enough to defeat Dame. In the final moment,’ Paxley delivered a couple of Psycho Traps for the win.

Jacy Jayne vs Lola Vice

This is a quickie, where Jayne tries to attack Vice, but Vice gives no chance to her opponent. Vice delivers a book, a combination of kicks. Jayne fought back for a brief control, but Lola with a clothesline, chest kick, axe kick and back fist picked up the win. After the match, Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx attacked Vice, where Sol Ruca & Karmen Petrovic saved her.

OTM vs The OC

Michin & Parker started the match, where Parker took Michin in control. Lucian Price and Gallows stepped up to exchange big right hands, clothesline big book and rock bottom. The Good Brothers with a back to back tag-ins take Nima & Price in control for the first half of the match. The women stepped up and Michin punished Parker with a pele kick and took her down.

Bronco and Price fought back but didn’t pay off as Gallows and Anderson overpowered them with the double team and delivered Magic Killer on Nima for the win.

NXT North American Championship Match- Oba Femi vs Duke Hudson

Oba Femi defended his NXT North American Championship in the main event of the show. Hudson has the initial strike, but Oba Femi cuts him off. Hudson delivered one of the toughest fights to Femi and both took each other to the limit. Duke was fired up in the mid-match and almost had the championship, but Femi used his power to escape his submission and tackling moves.

Hudson tries everything, but Femi refuses the fall. All the members of the Chase U start losing their minds. In the final moments of the match Hudson tried for a sunset flip powerbomb, but Femi threw him over the announcement desk. He took his challenger to the ring and delivered another powerbomb for the win to retain his NXT North American Championship.

Backstage

Joss Briggs and Brooks Jensen had a talk backstage, while leaving the arena, where Jensen challenged Brooks to a no-disqualification match next week.
