The 9/17 episode of WWE NXT was stacked with big matches & segments!

WWE successfully hosted the September 17, 2024 episode of WWE NXT live from Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, United States. NXT showcased some of the best matches and segments on the show including two championship matches.

Get to know what happened on WWE NXT this week, as we came out with a detailed summary of everything that happened on the show.

NXT Championship Contract Signing

The NXT General Manager Ava Raine was seated and called out “All Ego” Ethan Page and Trick Williams for signing the contract for their NXT Championship match at NXT on CW.

Trick Williams blamed Page for stealing his championship and Page said that he surprised everyone and their facial expressions proved that. Both went on to argue who will win their upcoming match and it turned into a brawl, where Page performed Ego’s Edge on Williams through the table and both haven’t signed the contract.

Lyra Valkyria & Tatum Paxley vs Rosemary & Wendy Choo

Lyra Valkyria reunited with her best friend Tatum Paxley and faced Wendy Choo and Rosemary in a tag team match. The match went to & fro with both teams having brief control over the other.

In the end, Valkyria delivered a leg drop from the top rope and pinned Rosemary to win the match.

Alexander Hammerstone vs Tony D’Angelo

Tony D’Angelo was fired up using speed and delivering a series of offenses such as belly-to-belly suplex and two spinning spinebusters. Hammerstone fought back and sent Tony out of the ring, which led to D’Angelo walking backstage and making Hammerstone pick up the win by count-out.

Zachary Wentz Promo

Zachary Wentz arrived in the middle of the ring and cut a promo against Wes Lee. He said that they were about to have a tag team championship last week, but Wes Lee attacked Trey Miguel in the parking lot and took them off from the title match. He said that, when he faces Wes Lee in a Street Fight Match, he would punish him ten times worse than what he did at No Mercy.

Ashante “Thee” Adonis vs Eddy Thorpe

Both went brawling before the match and the brawl settled to start the match. Both exchanged strikes and tried to punish each other, firing with punches, chokes and knees. The match went at a fast pace. In the final moments, Thorpe escaped the Crossbody from the top rope and delivered an Implant DDT for the win.

CM Punk was live

CM Punk made his appearance on NXT and said that he is in a different mood compared to yesterday night. He said that he spent a lot of time in the Performance Center during his rehab and had a chance to connect with a number of talents and a number of selfish egos including Lexis King, Carmelo Hayes, Ethan Page and Bron Breakker.

Punk then said that when he heard the WWE NXT kick off things on CW in his hometown, he asked Shawn Michaels to add him to the show. He got it confirmed and also gave him authority to do whatever he wanted. He said that it would be dangerous and he made a special plan. Before Punk finishes his promo, Roxanne Perez interrupts him and says how long she has known Punk and shares that Punk is her idol.

Both had a smooth conversation until Roxanne turned on Punk saying that he realized that she should have been a Drew McIntyre fan. She cut a promo against Giulia and said that she would outplay Giulia in Chicago. Punk said that he didn’t come to talk about them. Giulia interrupted them and told Roxanne that she only had two weeks left with the title. Perez tried to attack Giulia, but Punk stopped her.

Cedric Alexander & Je’Von Evans vs No Quarter Catch Crew

Cedric Alexander and Je’Von Evans teamed up and faced Myles Borne & Tavion Heights of No Quarter Catch Crew. Borne and Evans were fired up in the initial stage of the match and took complete control of the NQCC. However, Heights and Borne took control of Evans after the commercial. In the final moments of the match, Jordan & Sinclair came brawling ringside, which distracted heights. Alexander delivered a Lumbar Check and Evans delivered the Double Jump Tornillo on Myles to pick up the win.

Randy Orton’s message to Je’Von Evans

After the match, when Evans and Alexander celebrated their win, the commentary panel announced that Randy Orton tweeted about Je’Von Evans. Orton in his tweet said that he is coming for Evans on October 8, 2024, on the NXT on CW premiere.

Brooks Jenson vs Dion Lennox

Lennox took the fight to Jenson with the Thrust Spinebuster. Jenson fought back and tried to mock Lennox. Lennox fired up to deliver a clothesline and a backdrop, but Jenson delivered a DDT to pick up the win.

Jacy Jayne vs Lola Vice

Both traded kicks and Jacy sent Lola to the floor with a kick. Lola tried to take control of Jayne, Nyx tried to interfere and it backfired for Jayne, as Vice picked up the win by back fist. After the match, Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jacy Jayne attacked Lola Vice, but Jaida Parker made the save.

CM Punk will referee Ethan Page vs Trick Williams match

Tyrese Haliburton came to the ring and introduced Trick Williams to the ring to initiate the contract signing. Trick wasted no time and called Page to the ring. Page signed the contract, but Trick said that he forgot something and CM Punk appeared. Punk said that he would be the referee in charge of their match on October 1st. Since he is the official, he asked them to start their fight now and both began to brawl until the security separated them.
