WWE NXT unveiled the new WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship

WWE successfully hosted the May 28, 2024 episode of NXT from the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, United States. With two weeks from NXT Battleground, WWE has made the show one of the must-watch and exciting shows in recent times. This week’s NXT showcased some of the mindblowing matches and a lot of surprise elements. Here is what happened on this week’s show.

Sexxy Red unveiled the New NXT Women’s North American Championship

The show began with NXT General Manager Ava introducing Sexxy Red to the middle of the ring. Red addressed her presence and went on to reveal the new NXT Women’s North American Championship title. The title is similar to the men’s North American title but with a white strap. Tatum Paxley tried to take the title from Sexxy Red, but Michin stopped her.

The final two contenders for the NXT Women’s North American Championship booked their tickets to the ladder match at Battleground 2024. In the first match, Michin defeated Tatum Paxley & in the second match, Kelani Joran defeated Wren Sinclair to qualify for the match.

Oro Mensah is attacked backstage

Following the assault of Noam Dar two weeks ago, Oro Mensah of Meta-Four was assaulted backstage. Fellow Meta-Four members checked him out and Lash legend assured Jakara Jackson that she would find out whether Trick Williams attacked him or not.

Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows of The OC defeated Edris Enofe and Malik Blade. After the match, the Tag Team Champions attacked Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows from the back and went on to accept their challenge to defend the NXT Tag Team Championship at Battleground.

Forbidden Door opens for TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace

Roxanne Perez came to find out who is her next opponent for Battleground and yelled at Ava for not treating the champion the right way. Ava addressed Perez and introduced her next opponent, teasing that Perez wouldn’t be champion after Battleground. The TNA Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace came out and introduced herself as Perez’s challenger for Battleground and teased that she will be leaving the show as the double champ.

Lexis King attacked Dante Chen

Lexis King fought Dante Chen in a singles match and lost. After the match, King went on to assault Chen showing his disappointment in the loss. King took shots at Chen and hit Coronation on the exposed Concrete and the officials ran to check on Chen after the damage was done.

Ethan Page attacked Trick Williams

Trick Williams after the main event tag team match win was confronted by Lash Legend to ask if he was the one who attacked Oro Mensah and Noam Dar. Before Trick spoke a word, lights went off and someone attacked Trick from behind. It was Ethan Page, who just jumped ship from AEW to WWE. Page screamed that he was the one who attacked Dar and Mensah. He then hit a running knee on Trick and stood tall, lifting the Championship over his head.
