The double Champion was set to battle Blake Monroe!
WWE Women’s Speed and NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca was set to defend the NXT title against Blake Monroe at the 2025 edition of Halloween Havoc. The 2025 edition is set to take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
However, during the go-home show last night, it was revealed that Ruca revealed that she was not medically cleared to compete. Ruca suffered an injury during the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match alongside Zaria against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on the October 17 episode of SmackDown.
During the match, Blake Monroe, who was in the front row, distracted Ruca, allowing Flair to attack her knees and eventually retain the titles alongside Alexa Bliss.
After the announcement by Ruca on NXT, Zaria volunteered to defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship on behalf of Ruca, a proposal that was accepted by both Ruca and NXT General Manager Ava. Zaria is now set to battle Monroe this Saturday with the NXT Women’s North American title on the line.
However, the news of the injury has been met with skepticism by some fans, who believe it’s part of a storyline and that Ruca is not actually injured.
Is Sol Ruca’s injury kayfabe?
Following the segment on NXT, fans started posting the clip from SmackDown, claiming that Ruca isn’t actually injured and might be selling the injury due to storyline.
A fan also noted that Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Zaria assisted Ruca backstage after she was seen limping following the match on SmackDown. The fan pointed out how the medical staff, not helping the double Champion, would be fired from their jobs, hinting that Ruca might just be selling the injury as part of kayfabe.
WWE has neither confirmed nor denied these claims, leaving fans to wait and see what’s next, whether Ruca is truly injured or if she’ll make a quick return to action after Halloween Havoc.
