Iran warns U.S. citizens & troops in the Middle East are now targets!

WWE is gearing up to deliver the 2025 edition of Night of Champions this Saturday from the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia. However, amid rising tensions in the region, fans are urging the promotion to cancel the PLE amid recent threats from Iran.

Iranian state television on Sunday reportedly warned that “every American citizen or military personnel” in the Middle East is now on Tehran’s “target”. This came following US airstrikes on Iran’s three nuclear sites, a viral social media video shows an Iranian state TV anchor warning U.S. President Donald Trump that Iran will finish the conflict he began by targeting Iranian facilities.

The conflict that broke out between Israel and Iran has now seen the United States getting involved. Tensions are already at an all-time high, with both countries causing significant destruction. However, U.S. involvement and the aforementioned warning have left many fans concerned for the safety of WWE stars.

Fans were already skeptical since the conflict broke out, as Saudi Arabia is in the proximity of both countries and has an active air base in the country. The promotion traveling to Saudi Arabia in such a tense situation, when there’s an active warning for US citizens, has caused many fans to take to social media urging the promotion to cancel the event for the safety of superstars and crew.

A fan on X (Twitter) wrote, urging that if there was a time to cancel a show, it’s now, stressing the urgency, especially with the entire roster scheduled to be sent there in a week.

While some fans tried to downplay the situation by pointing out that Saudi Arabia and Iran are two different countries, others voiced their concerns and called on Triple H to cancel the show and refund the fans.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also weighed in, stating that he has asked the promotion whether Iran strikes will cause any adjustment to their WWE Night of Champions plans in Saudi Arabia. He also added that he hasn’t received a response yet but will share an update as soon as he does.

One fan also pointed out that WWE’s sister company, UFC, just went to Baku, Azerbaijan, to deliver a Fight Night show headlined by Jamal Hill and Khalil Rountree, noting how Azerbaijan borders Iran and is much closer to the bombings than Saudi Arabia.

The promotion has announced multiple matches for the Night of Champions 2025. John Cena is set to defend the Undisputed WWE title against CM Punk, while Jacob Fatu will defend the Intercontinental title against Solo Sikoa.

The show will also feature the finals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournament, with the winner also earning a title shot at SummerSlam.
