The 2024 SummerSlam is the upcoming, biggest premium live event of WWE
The 2024 SummerSlam is the upcoming annual premium live event produced by WWE. This is the 37th edition of the SummerSlam and is all set to be held on August 3, 2024, from the Cleveland Brown Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. This is the second biggest event of the company and is expected to be the grandest event of the summer.
With weeks away from the biggest party of the summer, here we take a look at the top five that must happen at WWE SummerSlam 2024.
5. LA Knight winning the US title
Based on the current storyline angle, Logan Paul will be defending his United States Championship against LA Knight in a singles match. As the two mega-stars collide, LA Knight must win the United States title from Logan to reinstate the competitiveness in SmackDown.
Paul has only 2 title defenses in his 250+ days reign, however Knight could defend it too often. On the other hand, Knight has been waiting too long to have his hands on his first WWE title and he deserves it at one of the biggest stages of them all.
4. Custody of Dominik Mysterio
The ongoing rivalry between Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan is around the world championship and Dominik Mysterio. There must be a winner taking all matches with both the world title and the Custody of Dominik Mysterio on the title, for the match between Ripley & Morgan. Since everything around Dom is being a Deja vu, it could be reminiscent of the 2005 SummerSlam match between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio.
3. CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre in a No Holds Barred Match
Based on the rumors, it seems like CM Punk will be cleared to compete at SummerSlam 2024 PLE and will face Drew McIntyre for his first singles match after his return. Both men have a great rivalry and they’ve been looking to tear each other apart. Since there are several possibilities of them using weapons against each other, this match should go under the No Holds Barred stipulation.
2. New World Heavyweight Champion
Damian Priest is all set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther in a singles match. Although both of them are the biggest wrestlers in the red brand, Gunther must win the World Championship.
Priest under the current angle has been toggling between defending the title and with the ongoing Judgment Day affairs. On the other hand, Gunther has proved his potential to be the world champion and has only one loss in the main roster. Gunther could instate a lot of prestige and could elevate the title to a new level, with new storyline angles.
1. Roman Reigns return
Solo Sikoa took over the Bloodline, by ejecting the existing Bloodline members out of the faction and recruiting new members. Solo began cosplaying like Roman and slowly claimed himself as the Tribal Chief and has been teasing a feud with Roman Reigns, in his absence.
As Solo is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns must make his return during the match to stop Bloodline from going out of control, and to stop Solo Sikoa from taking advantage of his hiatus.
