“The Tribal Chief” is one of the greatest ever to make it into WWE

Roman Reigns before he became “The Big Dog” or everyone’s beloved “Tribal Chief” wished to be an NFL star. So, he has got love for the sport. Before becoming a WWE superstar, Reigns was a standout football player at Georgia Tech, where he played with a future NFL Hall of Famer.

Roman Reigns played defensive lineman for Georgia Tech from 2004 to 2007, and he was a college teammate of Calvin Johnson. He was a starter for the last three years of his college career and was selected captain his senior year.

In his final season, he recorded 40 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. That season, he garnered first-team All-ACC recognition. His pro day statistics include a 4.91-second 40-yard dash and a 34-inch vertical while measuring 6’3″ and 303 pounds. Despite his impressive numbers, he went undrafted.

Roman Reigns was not taken in the 2007 NFL draft, but the Minnesota Vikings signed him as an undrafted free agent. However, after that team physical, he was diagnosed with leukemia and was cut later that month.

He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in August of that year but was cut again a week later. In 2008, he joined the Edmonton Eskimos (now the Elks) of the CFL. He appeared in five games that season, starting three of them. He finished the game with five tackles and one forced fumble. He was dismissed from the squad that year and thereafter retired from football.

Roman Reigns is a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers won a lot of fans last year because of their stacked roster, which undoubtedly helped them finish second in Super Bowl LVIII. Bayley, who attended this year’s Super Bowl alongside Mercedes Mone (previously known as Sasha Banks), Rey Mysterio, Britt Baker, Naomi, and Jey Uso, has been vocal in their support for the squad.

Roman Reigns is another well-known WWE Superstar that cheers for the 49ers. Though he is not as outspoken as The Role Model, The Tribal Chief has long been a fan of the band. As when he arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Press Event, he was seen sporting a 49ers jacket.

George Kittle, the tight end for the 49ers, is an avid follower of the WWE. He was shown attending several of the event’s shows, sharing a WrestleMania 39 moment with Pat McAfee and The Miz, and even putting on weight against Cody Rhodes, Roman, and The Rock.
