The 16-time World champion will kick-off his retirement tour in January 2025!
John Cena is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time who has been in WWE for more than two decades. The GOAT has a great history with WWE and has been involved in some of the important and monumental events of the company. Cena is the default face of the company throughout his run and has always been in a high-profile championship spotlight.
The 16-time champion in the mid-2010s moved to Hollywood by becoming a part-time wrestler. Cena is one of the few stars to achieve success in both WWE & Hollywood. As years passed, Cena’s in-ring career became occasional and he became a full-time Hollywood star. Cena has recently announced his retirement from WWE and is all set for a farewell tour next year.
As there were a number of rumors about Cena’s potential opponents, a recent backstage report revealed a big marquee match for Cena.
WWE plans for John Cena vs Logan Paul match
According to WrestleVotes’ latest report, there is internal speculation within WWE that the company is looking for a John Cena vs Logan Paul match as a part of Cena’s farewell tour in 2025. The reports suggest that there is a 100% interest within the creative team for the potential match to be held. Both Cena & Paul are interested in the match and the management feels it is a good match when put on paper.
Two years ago, Logan Paul in his Impaulsive podcast said that he wants John Cena at WrestleMania and it suggests that Paul convinced WWE creatives for a match against Cena, before he retires from in-ring competition.
Logan Paul previously said, “Let me take out John Cena. And that’d be crazy. I think that’s the model I’m going to pitch to WWE. ‘Hey, this works for me. Put me up against the best y’all have, I’m gonna f****** deliver. You know that for a fact. Not only to put on an amazing match, but I’m going to put asses in seats and eyeballs glued to the television.”
Logan last appeared on WWE way back at the 2024 SummerSlam PLE, where he lost his United States Championship to LA Knight in a singles match. Since then the Maverick hasn’t made his appearance on WWE. However, he is expected to be back sooner or later. Will you be excited to see the John Cena vs Logan Paul match?
