Former World Champion is unsure about a full-time return to WWE

Carmella speaks on her future in pro wrestling.
In a recent conversation with Laura Clery on IDIOT, former WWE World Champion Carmella spoke about a potential return to the Stamford-based promotion.
Carmella said she wasn’t sure what came next, but didn’t want to travel while her children were still young. The former Champion remained open to returning to WWE someday, though not necessarily soon or full-time because of her kids.
“I’m just not sure what the next step is for me, but I know I would regret being on the road and traveling while they are this young.
That’s not to say that I would never go back to WWE, but I just don’t know if it would be any time in the near future or in a full-time capacity because I can’t imagine being away from my kids for that long,”

Carmella made headlines in early September after retirement announcement

In early September Carmella stated that she was retired, ” “…I’m retired now...I was a professional wrestler. I can’t wrestle anymore. I’m a mom. I have kids. I’m retired.,” she said during her Hot Mom Shit podcast. The news quickly went viral online among fans.
However, she later clarified that she was retired since she got pregnant with her first son Dimitri. She also added that it doesn’t mean she can’t come out of retirement, afterall we’ve seen a plethora of stars come back from retirement in pro wrestling.
“lol idk where this is all coming from. I’ve been retired since I got pregnant with Dimitri. Doesn’t mean I can’t come out of retirement though….👀”
Carmella has been out of action since 2023
After stepping away from WWE in 2023 to have her first child with her husband and WWE color commentator, Corey Graves, she dealt with foot drop from the pregnancy. The couple later welcomed their second baby in October 2025.
The former Women’s World Champion last competed in a 10-woman tag team match teaming up with Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) & Piper Niven to take on Asuka, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae & Nikki Cross.
The match took place at a live event on March 12, 2023, meanwhile her last on-screen appeareance came on March 6, 2023 edition Raw where she suffered defeat at the hands of Bianca Belair.
