Goldberg was last seen in WWE over two years ago.
Former WWE Champion and Hall of Famer, Goldberg had an unparalleled beginning in the sport. He had an incredible run in WCW, winning 173 matches in a row until Kevin Nash handed him his first-ever defeat. He also had a great run in the WWE, capturing the World Championship several times.
Even with all of his accomplishments, Goldberg isn’t ready to call this a career just yet. Having said that, the former Universal Champion has revealed his desire to have one last encounter to round up his illustrious career, even if it had to take place outside well-known brands like AEW and WWE.
Goldberg doesn’t care if it is WWE, AEW, or himself to have his retirement match
While speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Bill Goldberg indicated that he is not done with wrestling. The wrestling legend has been itching to have a sendoff match before he hangs his boots. With that goal, Goldberg relayed just how he intends to do it.
He stated that he is not waiting for a call from WWE or AEW for his retirement match. Additionally, Bill talked about potentially organizing a promotion himself for his last match, listing a few possible venues.
He said, “It wouldn’t have to be with anyone. I could do it myself and accomplish what I wanted to accomplish, right? I could do the promotion myself. Overseas, do it in Israel, do it in India, do it somewhere, do it in Japan.”
It’s also important to note that Bill Goldberg is happy with his professional wrestling career and has expressed thanks for all that he has accomplished. In 2022, Goldberg became a free agent, sparking rumors that Tony Khan might sign him to AEW.
Regarding WWE, Goldberg disclosed that Vince McMahon had promised him a championship match. Since McMahon is no longer with WWE, we are unsure if it will happen in the future. Whether Goldberg follows through on his plan to have his last contest on his terms is still to be seen.
Goldberg’s last loss came in the hands of “The Tribal Chief”
As was already said, Goldberg had a respectable career in the WWE. During his second run, he defeated Kevin Owens and Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Championship twice, their first and second titles, respectively.
He returned to the WWE on February 4, 2022, taking on Roman Reigns, the champion at the time, in an attempt to capture the Universal Championship a third time. The pair were matched against one another at the exclusive live event, Elimination Chamber.
