Former WWE star & Indian actor Saurav Gurjar arrested in Hyderabad sexual exploitation case

Former WWE star and Indian actor Saurav Gurjar has been arrested in Hyderabad, India, in connection with a complaint filed by a 29-year-old woman who accused him of cheating and harassment after promises of marriage.
After the complaint, Gurjar has been booked by the Gachibowli police in Hyderabad. The woman approached the police on August 15, claiming that Gurjar had promised to marry her and assured her that she would receive rights similar to those of a wife. She also alleged that she faced physical and emotional harassment during their relationship.

According to her complaint, the two met through Instagram in 2021 and later became close through WhatsApp. They reportedly met in person for the first time on December 25, 2021, and continued their relationship while she was living in the United States and after her return to India.
The woman alleged that Gurjar convinced her to leave her job in the US, promising that they would start a business together. She claimed that the situation later affected her ability to focus on her work.
She further alleged that whenever she asked Gurjar about marriage, he would block her phone number and distance himself from her. According to the complaint, Gurjar lived with her from October 2025 to March 2026. She said that after returning to Hyderabad and continuing to stay with her, he allegedly left suddenly without informing her.
Following the complaint, Gachibowli police registered a case against Gurjar under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which is related to sexual intercourse obtained through deceitful means. Police subsequently issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him and initiated an investigation into the allegations.
Police traced the former WWE star to Mumbai after he was intercepted by immigration officials at Mumbai airport on the night of September 17 after arriving from the Middle East. The police then detained him and brought him to Hyderabad for further proceedings.

Saidulu also added that Gurjar was brought to Hyderabad, where he was produced before a magistrate and subsequently remanded to 14 days in judicial custody.
The investigation will examine the allegations, including the alleged promise of marriage, their relationship, and the other claims made in the complaint.
Gurjar signed with WWE in 2018 and joined the NXT roster in 2020. In 2022, he was rebranded as Sanga, and in 2023 he was promoted to the main roster, joining the Raw brand. His final in-ring appearance in WWE came during the April 2024 André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
