Top five German superstars in WWE History

The WWE landscape has seen an array of top stars from the native land of Germany.
WWE has been the land of some of the world-class traveled athletes coming from various countries and backgrounds. Among those, an array of those WWE superstars come from the land of Germany. Over four decades, superstars from Germany have made a huge impact on the company.
With some of the talented in-ring talents making a name for themselves from Germany, here is a look at the top five WWE superstars who stand out in history:
5. Alexander Wolfe
Alexander Wolfe was considered a top talent in WWE NXT and NXT UK. He had a successful stint as part of the faction, SAnitY, with Wolfe being a part of NXT and SmackDown as well, reigning as a one-time NXT Champion. In 2019, Alexander aligned himself with The Imperium, comprising Gunther, Ludwig Kaisar and Giovanni Vinci having a successful stint with them, before his untimely release in 2021. However, among the Germans in Stamford-based company, he did make a huge impact.
4. Scott Hall
Scott Hall is one of the most renowned WWE figures of all time. While it has not been discussed much, the man known as Razon Ramon in WWE has some German heritage. Moreover, he has been a 4-time WWE Intercontinental champion, a part of some of the memorable matches and moments of all time and a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, being one of the top icons with a German background.
3. Alex Wright
Alex Wright became a popular name in WWE’s former rival promotion, WCW in the 1990s. He donned the popular gimmick of a dancer, “Das Wunderkind,” and etched the WCW World Television and WCW World Tag Team Championship to his resume, becoming a prominent star from Germany to gain success in the mainstream wrestling scene.
2. Cesaro
The man known as The Swiss Superman, Cesaro, now known as Claudio Castagnoli, unknown to many, has German heritage and even has fluency in the German language. Cesaro became a popular name in WWE, winning multiple championships and accolades until he departed from the company in 2021. He is currently a part of AEW and among the top figures with a German background in the sport of professional wrestling.
1. Gunther
There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Gunther is one of the most accomplished and renowned names in the world of professional wrestling from Germany. The Ring General has etched record-breaking title reigns, won King of the Ring and recently clinched his first World Championship at SummerSlam. With a long career ahead of him, Gunther could very well become the biggest name in the history of WWE from Germany.
