GM Ava announces WWE NXT vs TNA 'Invasion' for October 7

The two brands will settle their feud next month!

The mutual working partnership between WWE NXT and TNA has now become hostile as members of both brands are now at odds with each other.

The dominance of NXT plays a part in this, as not only has Trick Williams become the TNA World Champion, but Kelani Jordan recently captured the TNA Knockouts World Championship as well.

The hostility reached new heights during last week’s NXT, where Trick and the then NXT Champion Oba Femi were battling in a winner-takes-all match. The main event clash ended in a No Contest as the entire TNA locker room invaded NXT to kick off a major brawl between the two brands.

Ava & Santino Marella have a solution

During the 2025 edition of NXT No Mercy, NXT General Manager Ava announced that, following last week’s events, she and TNA Director of Authority, Santino Marella, have come up with a solution. The GM then announced an NXT vs TNA Wrestling “Invasion” show for the October 7 episode of WWE NXT on the CW.

Ava revealed that there will be two Survivor Series-style matches at the upcoming event: one for the men and one for the women, featuring teams from NXT and TNA. The participants for these matches have not been disclosed yet, but the team lineups are expected to be announced on the September 30 episode of NXT, airing this Tuesday, just one week before Invasion.

The GM also announced a title vs title match involving NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState (Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin) vs TNA Tag Team Champions the Hardy Boyz (Jeff & Matt Hardy). Both titles will be on the line for this clash.

The Invasion is expected to mark the start of a long-term storyline

According to a previous report from PWMania.com, the recent TNA invasion of NXT is expected to kick off a long-term storyline between the two brands. Additionally, it’s been hinted that TNA might start holding tapings at the Performance Center in the near future.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA is set to host tapings in Orlando, Florida, probably around November.

The report further adds that the NXT vs TNA storyline is the company’s primary focus right now. Additionally, TNA is looking for a new venue for regular TV tapings that would be more budget-friendly than their current setup.
