The “In-Ring General” is a destructive force inside the squared circle.

Gunther is one of the most hardcore heavyweights to ever compete in a WWE ring. As Dvorak’s thundering “Symphony No. 9” resonates across the arena, Gunther strikes terror in his opponents before he ever walks past the ropes, and with good cause.

Gunther, who has been competing for almost a decade, rose to prominence on the independent circuit in Europe and abroad. He’s feared all over the world for his devastating in-ring technique, which includes violent knife-edge chops that leave opponents’ chests sunken and discolored. Gunther stands 6-foot-4 and weighs around 300 pounds.

Gunther has won championships in Germany, England, Ireland, and the United States during his career, but it only took three months after joining NXT UK for him to achieve his greatest success yet, ending Pete Dunne’s remarkable 685-day run as WWE United Kingdom Champion. The Ring General held the prized championship for more than two years, defending it in epic brawls with Ilja Dragunov, A-Kid, Joe Coffey, and Rampage Brown.

“In-Ring General” historic IC championship reign

At NXT TakeOver 36, Dragunov ended Gunther’s 870-day run. No one will forget The Ring General’s spectacular rule. Flanked by his partner-in-crime Ludwig Kaiser, Gunther sent shockwaves through the locker room as he made his SmackDown debut in absolutely overwhelming form on the April 8 episode of the blue brand, signaling the arrival of a new force to be reckoned with.

Gunther lived true to his moniker, The Ring General. By defeating Ricochet three months after making his SmackDown debut to capture the Intercontinental Championship, he quickly earned further support when Giovanni Vinci joined the ranks. After being one of WWE’s longest-reigning Intercontinental Champions, Gunther has already etched his name as one of the best to ever do it.

As The ‘In-Ring General’ tries to accomplish his World Championship dream, here we take a look at Gunther’s full list of career titles and accomplishments.
