“The Prince” is a Grand Slam Champion
Finn Bálor aka Fergal Devitt, is an Irish professional wrestler renowned for his explosive in-ring style and magnetic personality. Bálor currently competes on WWE’s RAW brand. He is a key component of the heel faction “The Judgment Day.”
Bálor’s career began in 2001, and he rose to international prominence during his time with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), where he performed as Prince Devitt. He experienced considerable success in NJPW, winning three IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championships and six IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. He also won the Best of the Super Juniors tournament twice, in 2010 and 2013, and was a founder and initial leader of the Bullet Club stable.
Aside from NJPW, Bálor made his impact in the Mexican company Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where he won the NWA World Historic Middleweight Championship. His achievements in the indie wrestling circuit include titles as ICW Zero-G Champion, RPW English Cruiserweight Champion, and NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion.
Finn Balor’s World title reign
Finn Bálor’s journey in WWE began in 2014. It might have been marked by numerous highs and lows, but his incredible talent and numerous title reigns have helped Bálor capture a World Championship in WWE. He was the first WWE Universal Champion. He beat Seth Rollins to become the champion back in 2016. Finn Balor is still yet to win the prestigious WWE Championship.
Here are all his Championship wins in WWE:
WWE Universal Championship
Bálor’s most famous WWE success was capturing the Universal Championship in 2016. This victory was historic, as he became the first Universal Champion by defeating Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
Unfortunately, Bálor’s reign was cut short due to a shoulder injury, forcing him to give up the championship less than 24 hours later. Despite his brief tenure, he is best renowned for inventing the Universal Championship, which has since been held by WWE icons.
