Ahead of the first SNME of 2026, WWE will deliver the go-home show of SmackDown!
Ahead of the Royal Rumble PLE, WWE is set to deliver the January 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The first edition of SNME in 2026 is set to emanate live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
WWE has announced three high-stakes matches, including two with championship implications and a grudge bout between Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu. However, there is still room for additional matches to be added to the card, as the promotion typically features at least four matches on its shows.
Ahead of the SNME go-home show of WWE SmackDown, let us take a look at the three high-stakes matches that GM Nick Aldis can add to the card this Friday.
3. Johnny Gargano vs Axiom
Since stealing Axiom’s mask, Johnny Gargano has been terrorizing Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom), using his wife, Candice LeRae, as a shield in the absence of his tag partner, Tomasso Ciampa. However, last week, Axiom and Frazer decided to hit back.
Gargano is currently set to take on Frazer in singles action. However, WWE could book Gargano and Axiom in a high-stakes clash for the mask; Axiom has floated the same idea, but Gargano has never been a fan of it. This could change if Axiom proposes the same idea to Aldis.
2. Jade Cargill vs Jordynne Grace
Since her arrival on the SmackDown brand, Jordynne Grace has instantly showcased why she is called ‘The Juggernaut.’ However, the NXT alumna was put on notice following her debut win by Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.
The tensions only grew further last week, when, after defeating Chelsea Green, Grace and Cargill had a fierce face-off. The face-off ended when Green accidentally took out Cargill while trying to attack Grace, who then posed with the title.
Since winning the title at SNME in November, Cargill has yet to defend it, and who better to defend it against than the fellow powerhouse?
1. Solo Sikoa vs Uncle Howdy
The MFTs led by Solo Sikoa and the Wyatt Sicks led by Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas) are locked in a fierce feud, which has become more personal since Solo stole the lantern, associated with the late great Bray Wyatt, Howdy’s brother.
Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis are currently set to defend the WWE Tag Team titles against The MFTs. WWE could use this match to announce a singles grudge match between Solo and Howdy for SNME. The match would be a great addition to the card and would add another layer to the feud, giving bragging rights to the winner.
