The city will host the 42nd edition of WrestleMania next year

One of the most electrifying man in all of sports entertainment, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his return on the 02/21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. This was Johnsons’ first appearance since the Raw Netflix debut episode last month.

In his return, the Final Boss made the highly awaited announcement about the 42nd edition of WrestleMania and announced the date and location of the grandest stage next year.

The city that never sleeps will host the 2026 edition of Mania as the 42nd edition of WrestleMania will take place in the iconic Ceasers Superdome in New Orleans, Louisana. Following in the recent trend the 42nd edition of Mania is scheduled for a two-night event on April 11 and 12, 2026.

However, this isn’t the first time the city has hosted the grandest stage as New Orleans has a rich history and connection with the Stamford-based promotion.

New Orleans will host WrestleMania for the third time in 2026

The first Mania ever to take place in New Orleans was in 2014 when the Stamford-based promotion arrived in the city to deliver the 30th edition of the PLE. WrestleMania 30 emanated live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (now Caesars Superdome) in New Orleans, Louisiana.

It was the first WWE event to be aired live on both pay-per-view and streamed on WWE’s subscription service, the WWE Network. In the main event of the PLE, Daniel Bryan defeated Batista, and defending champion Randy Orton in a triple-threat match to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The second time the city hosted the Mania PLE was in 2018 when the city played host to the 34th edition of the WrestleMania PLE, which emanated live from the same venue, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (now Caesars Superdome). In the main event of the PLE, Brock Lesnar successfully defended the WWE Universal Championship against ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns.

The city has once again bagged the opportunity to host the Mani PLE and the 2026 edition will be the third time WrestleMania will emanate from New Orleans as well as the third time from the Caesers Superdome.
