“The Phenomenal One” is one of the greatest to enter the squared circle

AJ Styles wants The Rock Following his involvement in the WWE WrestleMania 40 main event, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson advised fans that he needed to “go away for a little while,” alluding to his continued duties outside of wrestling. Before leaving WWE, The Rock stated that he would return at some point in the future and that WrestleMania 40 was simply the beginning of the “Final Boss Cinema.”

When The Rock returns, he has promised to settle his unfinished business with newly crowned Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Aside from that, The Rock has an eager first-time opponent waiting in the wings.

AJ Styles is “interested” in facing The Final Boss but under one condition

Former WWE Champion AJ Styles indicated interest in facing The Rock during an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, but only on one condition.

“Of course, I’m interested–but only if that means The Rock is turning babyface,” Styles said. “I’m not interested in being a mediocre bad guy. I want to bring this to a whole new level.”

The Rock was welcomed back to WWE as a babyface but ultimately turned heel in the buildup to WrestleMania 40. During this shift, The Rock reclaimed a gimmick that reflected his earlier “Hollywood Rock” image. In this incarnation, however, The Rock’s cunning and crass attitude caused him to declare himself “The Final Boss.”

Similarly, AJ Styles returned to WWE in December as a babyface. In the weeks that followed, however, it became evident that Styles had undergone an attitude shift, notably one steeped in increased hostility.

Styles has a fascinating presence in the ring. Even though he turns 47 next month, he still has one of the most remarkable physiques in the whole profession. He is a highly accomplished actor who can excel in a variety of roles, as seen by his loss to Cody Rhodes at Backlash earlier this month. Whether Styles maintains his rivalry with Rhodes or moves on to a new opponent, he knows exactly how he wants to represent himself in the ring.
