These wrestlers might never wrestle again!

WWE has always prided itself on showcasing some of the toughest athletes in the world. Superstars risk everything inside the squared circle, often battling through pain and injuries to give fans unforgettable moments. But for a few top names, the injuries they’ve sustained may have ended their careers for good.

While the company continues to thrive with new storylines and rising talent, the absence of certain veterans and established stars is being felt deeply by fans. Let’s take a look at four WWE superstars who may never make it back to in-ring competition due to career-threatning injuries.

4. Piper Niven

Piper Niven has been absent from WWE programming since August 2025, she has out of action due to a neck injury. Niven was set to battle the Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, alongside Alba Fyre, Chelsea Green replaced her in the match and Niven has been off air since.

Speaking on the Fightful Select Q&A regarding Piper Niven’s injury, Sean Ross Sapp reported that while some in WWE are concerned it could be career-threatening, those close to her remain confident she’ll make a recovery.

3. Big E

Few injuries hit WWE fans harder than Big E’s. The former WWE Champion suffered a serious neck injury that left many fearing the end of his in-ring career. His shocking betrayal by Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston on RAW added an emotional layer to his absence.

Since then, Big E has taken on a new role with WWE, appearing in promotional spots and as part of the broadcast team for premium live events. His official render now shows him in a suit rather than wrestling gear, fueling speculation that his in-ring days may be behind him.

2. Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark, a former NXT standout, suffered a devastating knee injury during a triple threat match against Kairi Sane and Rhea Ripley back in May. She tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus, forcing her out of action indefinitely.

Fans were initially hopeful that an eight-month rehab would lead to her return, but Stark herself admitted on Instagram that the recovery has been extremely difficult. “The injury has become a source of both mental and physical exhaustion,” she confessed. While she avoided confirming a timeline, her frustration and uncertainty leave her WWE future hanging in the balance.

1. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was in the middle of a career-defining run when news of his neck issues surfaced. Set for a major WrestleMania match, Owens was forced to step aside just weeks before the event. Originally, surgery was expected, but Owens later revealed he chose to wait and see if his neck would heal naturally.

“I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get back,” Owens admitted when asked about a return. The uncertainty surrounding his future has left fans concerned that they may have seen the last of the Prizefighter inside a WWE ring.

Is Zoey Stark expected to return to WWE?

At the moment, Stark has no clear return date. She has admitted her knee injury recovery has been mentally and physically exhausting.

Will Big E ever wrestle again?

While WWE has not ruled it out, Big E’s move to promotional and commentary roles strongly suggests his in-ring career may be over.

Why is Kevin Owens’ future in doubt?

Kevin Owens is dealing with a serious neck injury. Instead of surgery, he is hoping for natural healing, but he himself admitted he’s unsure if he’ll ever compete again.
