The July 18 edition of SNME will emanate from MSG.

WWE will host the July edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select now reports that WWE has invited several members of the New York Knicks to attend SNME at Madison Square Garden. According to sources within the company, multiple players from the Knicks’ 2026 NBA Championship-winning roster are expected to be present.

The report also stated that WWE had explored involving NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson in the event, with several creative ideas reportedly centered around Danhausen.

Those plans were ultimately dropped after Brunson underwent left wrist surgery, preventing any physical participation. Despite that, the promotion remains optimistic that Brunson will still attend the show and appear on-screen.

Danhausen has been heavily featured in the advertising of the show as he built a relationship with the Knicks after “uncursing” them before the team’s remarkable NBA Playoffs winning streak and the eventual win in the finals.

Top WWE Official supported Sheamus in TKO talks

According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio, a top WWE official advocated for Sheamus during discussions with TKO, emphasizing his value both inside and outside the ring. That approach didn’t work, with financial considerations said to be the main reason behind his exit.

The report also adds that a source close to the Celtic Warrior confirmed that he is open to working for AEW, even if it’s on a short-term basis.

On the other hand,  Ibou of Self Made Sessions reported that Sheamus gave up on WWE creative during the build to WrestleMania 41 when they didn’t follow through on the plan for Sheamus to chase the-then Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker.

The report also notes that around that period, Sheamus, The New Day, and several other veteran stars felt their standing in WWE had declined during the Netflix era. They were said to be frustrated by reduced television time and limited communication with the CCO Triple H and WWE management.

Despite feeling that his creative direction had stalled, Sheamus intended to remain with the company as long as his financial terms were unchanged. He also pushed for a program with Rusev, hoping it would eventually lead to the two teaming together. However, as we all know, nothing came of it.

Sheamus last wrestled in WWE in November 2025, teaming up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to take on the Judgment Day. His dream to capture the Intercontinental title and become the Grand Slam Champion in WWE remains unfulfilled after his exit.

Will Jalen Brunson appear at Saturday Night’s Main Event at MSG?

Per Fightful, although Jalen Brunson is not expected to have a physical role due to left wrist surgery, WWE remains hopeful he will attend the event and make an on-screen appearance.

What is the latest update on Sheamus’ departure?

According to WrestleVotes Radio, a top WWE official backed Sheamus and explained his value to TKO. However, the approach didn’t work. On the other hand, Ibou of Self Made Sessions reported that Sheamus gave up on creative during the build to WrestleMania 41.
