Questions surrounding Bayley’s future have intensified after reports suggested her current WWE contract is set to expire later this year. While there is no confirmation that she is leaving the company, recent comments from Bayley and a social media tease from Mercedes Moné have sparked widespread discussion among wrestling fans.
According to WrestleVotes, Bayley’s WWE contract is expected to expire at the end of the year. The report also stated that no new agreement is currently in place and that neither side has publicly addressed the status of negotiations, if discussions are taking place at all.

Bayley has hinted that the next chapter of her career is approaching
Bayley first addressed her long-term future during an interview last year, revealing that she had “a year and a half left” on her existing WWE contract.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, the former WWE Women’s Champion admitted she has begun thinking about life beyond her current deal.
“And then what? Man, I don’t know. I think I’ve done everything I really want to do, not everything. There’s still a lot I want to get done, but done so much with WWE and I’ve been here for already 12 years.”
She also acknowledged the growing depth of WWE’s women’s division.
“There’s like a huge wave of women coming in that I think are ready to take over and ready to be in those spots.”
Those comments have taken on renewed significance following the latest contract reports, especially as Bayley remains a regular presence on WWE programming despite many fans believing she has been underutilized in recent months.
Mercedes Moné adds fuel to AEW speculation
Speculation increased further after Mercedes Moné captured her second consecutive Owen Hart Cup at Forbidden Door before turning her attention toward Bayley on social media.
Following the event, Moné shared an Instagram Story imagining another match with her longtime friend and rival at AEW WrestleDream. In the post, she referenced Bayley competing under her pre-WWE ring name, Davina Rose.
Moné also shared photos featuring signed collectibles from two of her biggest inspirations—Bayley and the late Eddie Guerrero—while saying goodbye to San Jose, Bayley’s hometown, making it clear her longtime wrestling partner was on her mind.
Whether the tease was genuine, playful or simply wishful thinking remains unknown, but it quickly reignited conversation about a potential reunion outside WWE.
At the same time, another possibility remains on the table. Bayley has already invested in the future of professional wrestling through the Lodestone training camps that she funds and operates. Like AJ Styles, she could eventually sign another WWE contract before transitioning into a developmental or coaching role.
For now, there is no indication that Bayley has requested her release or agreed to join AEW. Until either Bayley or WWE publicly comments on her contract status, her future remains one of wrestling’s biggest unanswered questions.
