In recent days, the speculation of the six-time WWE World Champion, Chris Jericho, making his WWE return has picked up steam. Fans were already speculating about the same as Jericho’s AEW contract is reportedly set to expire later this year.
Jericho has been with AEW since 2019 and his last WWE appearance was during the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27, 2018. The rumors of his return were intensified when Jericho himself liked a post on Instagram about being open to a return to WWE once his contract with AEW expires at the end of this year.
A new report from Wrestling Observer Radio has provided some clarity about the wrestling legend’s future in the Stamford-based promotion.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there’s been growing speculation within WWE about Chris Jericho potentially returning once his contract expires at the end of the year. Many believe his comeback is only a matter of time. He also added that people are speculating about Jericho’s return at the Royal Rumble.
“Jericho is actually a really big story. His contract is up at the end of the year, or late in the year, and there’s certainly been lots and lots of talk about WWE,
I know from a WWE standpoint that there is lots of talk there about Jericho. People speculating Royal Rumble. Nobody has officially said anything, nor will anyone officially say anything.”

Chris Jericho seems open to another WWE run
During an appearance in April at a forum at a Horror Rock and Wrestle Fest event, Jericho stated that he is open to a return but hasn’t made a decision yet, emphasizing that he’ll weigh his options and choose based on the situation.
“Of course I would consider going back there. I would consider not going back there too. It just depends on what the situation is and what’s going on with me, We’ll see. I mean, it’s not even, never say never. It’s consider all your options and choose wisely.”
Amid a massive uproar from fans to see Jericho back in the squared circle, the six-time World Champion has shared his return in 2013 at the Royal Rumble on his TikTok.
