Pat McAfee stole the Undisputed title last week.

During last week’s SmackDown in San Jose, Cody Rhodes once again received a brutal beatdown at the hands of Randy Orton and Pat McAfee. Even Jelly Roll was dragged into the feud as Orton attacked him backstage and dragged him out during the brawl.

After the beatdown, Randy Orton hit Cody Rhodes with the Undisputed title, after which Pat McAfee picked it up and left the arena carrying it. The title was then spotted by fans during the recent edition of The Pat McAfee Show, which means that McAfee is still in possession of the title.

McAfee even said that the title lives with him and suggested the idea of bringing back the spinner title, popularized by John Cena.

Fans also urged Cody to take back the title from McAfee, and looking at Rhodes’ recent Instagram stories, the American Nightmare might be on his way to take the title back.

Cody Rhodes in Indianapolis?

Cody Rhodes recently posted a selfie inside a private jet on his IG story with a caption “Sacramento ✈️ NYC ✈️ ??? ✈️ Vegas ✈️” teasing that he flew to an undisclosed location between his trip from New York to Las Vegas.

Rhodes was likely in New York to promote WrestleMania on ESPN’s Get Up and First Take shows. However, regarding his secret location, many fans started speculating whether Rhodes is going to Indianapolis, a place where McAfee resides.

Cody posted another story where he can be seen walking on the landing strip, walking towards a Private Jet. What caught fans’ attention was the music he used in the story, which was Pat McAfee’s WWE theme song.

Furthermore, he also posted a video of what looks like outside footage of Grainbridge Fieldhouse, an iconic arena in Indianapolis, where multiple WWE events have taken place. This definitely proved Rhodes is in Indianapolis, but is he really going to attack McAfee?

It has been widely reported and confirmed that there have been multiple pivots in the lead-up to WrestleMania 42, and WWE has made tweaks to the storyline after the massive backlash to McAfee’s inclusion.

This could be WWE’s way of building interest in the storyline, with Cody Rhodes potentially confronting Pat McAfee in Indianapolis to reclaim the title.

On a side note, it could also be a case of WWE keeping things simple, with fans possibly overanalyzing the situation, as Rhodes may just be there to film promotional material. Either way, fans are likely to get clarity before the final SmackDown before WrestleMania this Friday.

Rhodes vs Orton for the Undisputed title will headline Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

When and where will WrestleMania 42 take place?

The 42nd edition of the PLE will be a two-night event on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Who will headline the two-night spectacle?

Night 1 will be headlined by Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton, while Night 2 will close with CM Punk putting the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Roman Reigns.

Which matches will open both nights of Mania?

The six-man tag team match involving the Usos, LA Knight, IShowSpeed, and the Vision will open Night 1, while Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi will open Night 2 of the PLE.
