Cody Rhodes gave an injury update on himself following the debutant Jacob Fatu’s attack
On the June 21, 2024, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes faced Solo Sikoa in a singles match at the main event of the show. The match ended in a no contest, where Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa attacked Cody when he tried to deliver a Cross Rhodes on Solo Sikoa. Randy Orton & Kevin Owens also were involved in favor of Cody, and they took Bloodline in control.
However, Jacob Fatu made his debut and took Rhodes, Orton and Owens out single-handedly. Fatu delivered a Samoan Drop on Kevin Owens over the steel steps, speared Randy Orton to the barricade and delivered a splash on Cody Rhodes breaking the announcement table to make the debut statement in style. Following Jacob Fatu’s attack, Cody Rhodes addressed the attack and also gave an update on his body, following the attack.
Cody Rhodes’ injury update
At the WWE Summer Live Event on June 22, 2024, in Bloomington, Illinois, Cody Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event of the show. Rhodes appeared with his waist taped, however successfully retained his championship.
After the match, Cody addressed Jacob Fatu’s attack on SmackDown, where Cody gave an exclusive scoop to WWE Universe in Bloomington saying that he broke two of his rib bones following Jacob Fatu’s attack. He said that he was offered to take off from the upcoming events, however, he doesn’t want to miss the SmackDown at Madison Square Garden, where Rhodes has a great history.
Cody Rhodes said,“A little scoop for you Bloomington, last night I did break two of my ribs. And the thought [backstage] was ‘Well, you can take off Bloomington, you can take off Kalamazoo. You can even take off next Friday where the story began in 1978, New York City’ And my answer to that was emphatically, 100% ‘Hell No!’”
With Rhodes’ appearance in the Bloomington event, we can confirm that Rhodes will appear on the June 28, 2024, episode of SmackDown in Madison Square Garden, New York, United States. We could also confirm that despite injury, Rhodes is still cleared to compete, as he performed a match at the event.
